Here are a few key takeaways: ✨Write detailed and concrete job descriptions to avoid misunderstandings about the role's expectations, as there are many differences between sales manager, sales development representative, lead generation, account executive, etc. ✨A test task is essential to see the flow of candidates' thoughts. A basic exercise is the 30-60-90 plan. ✨Sales specialists should ask questions about the basic salary and bonus during the first interview and focus on greater rewards for greater results. ✨Many companies require salespeople to work from the office. Employers need to understand the goal of working from the office, as many sales are conducted with clients from other locations. ✨It is almost impossible to expect salespeople to be great at both sales and a specific domain. Good salespeople are adaptive and understand trends. Some companies hire bankers with a great network instead of sales specialists. Please DON’T hire me!! If you want me on commission only. Any really good salesperson or sales manager isn’t going to come to your team on commission only. I’ve made this mistake before, and it never ends well. Usually, what the hiring party is hoping for is to create a no-risk situation. The problem? - The salesperson is taking a HUGE risk. - There’s no such thing as a reward that comes without risk. - There’s no investment on the company's end into the salesperson, so they’ll end up putting their success last on the list of priorities. Salespeople, how many times have you been offered a position that: “You could make $150k in your first year” or “One deal and you’ll be set” (By the way, a partnership is different than commission-only sales and of course, there are also exceptions to every rule).

The most shocking sales tactics I’ve ever seen. We made a hiring post the previous week. I got an email from a talent marketplace company. The email was out of box scary and blew me away. They offered me a 1-week-trial to try their platform to hire candidates. The offer is good. Nothing wrong till now…right? But wait! In their offer, they made a free account. The credentials were: Login: {My personal email} Password: {My personal phone number} Without my consent they scraped and used my personal details. Now the more interesting part… …I replied to them to immediately delete my account as it’s a direct breach to my privacy. *THEIR REPLY:* = = = Hi Nilesh, Apologies for the inconvenience As a part of our reach out campaign, we have created your login.
