It was not a coincidence that India's clinical research industry started in mid-nineties. Dr. Singh (& PM Narsimha Rao)'s visionary steps to open up India's economy, created a significant interest amongst global pharma for Indian markets and this became an indirect (but sure-shot) push to conduct more clinical trials in India. RIP Dr. Singh, thank you for those initial steps and the directions you chose. If India has a position of meaning, in the global pharma/CRO industry today; we wouldn't have been here without those first steps. We have miles to go & journeys to make. But we remain thankful to you, Sir. #clinicalresearch; #clinicaltrials; #pharma;

🙏 In Memory of Dr. Manmohan Singh (1932-2024) With profound sadness, I join the nation in mourning the loss of Dr. Manmohan Singh, a remarkable statesman, brilliant economist, and India's former Prime Minister who transformed our nation's economic landscape. His journey from a small village in Punjab to becoming the architect of India's economic liberalization is not just inspiring - it's a testament to the power of knowledge, dedication, and unwavering integrity. What set Dr. Singh apart was his unique combination of intellectual brilliance and humility. As the architect of the 1991 economic reforms, he steered India through its most challenging economic crisis, laying the foundation for India's emergence as a global economic power. His legacy teaches us three invaluable lessons: Leadership doesn't always need a loud voice; it needs a clear vision Economic progress and social justice can, and must, go hand in hand Knowledge, when coupled with integrity, can transform nations Under his premiership (2004-2014), India witnessed its highest decadal growth rate, showcasing how thoughtful policy-making can create lasting impact. As we bid farewell to this giant of Indian politics and economics, let's remember that his greatest contribution wasn't just economic reforms - it was showing us that gentleness and strength can coexist in leadership. Today, on the occasion of Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti, we honor and remember a leader whose life was an embodiment of simplicity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the nation. Shastriji's journey, from his early days of struggle to becoming the Prime Minister of India, serves as an eternal reminder of what true leadership stands for—service above self. Shastriji’s philosophy of "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" encapsulated his deep understanding of India’s core—the strength of its farmers and soldiers. In a time when the country was recovering from the aftermath of war and economic challenges, his words not only motivated but united the nation towards a common goal of self-sufficiency and resilience. What makes Lal Bahadur Shastri an extraordinary figure in our history is not just his political acumen but his deep connection with the common man. His simple lifestyle, untainted by the allure of power or luxury, resonated with millions. His integrity was his greatest strength, and it was this quality that earned him the respect and love of the people. In these times, as we look back at his life, we find valuable lessons of patriotism, leadership, and moral courage. "Two great souls, one shared vision for India. 🙏 When Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, as a young man, once returned a government blanket mistakenly given to him, it was a moment that reflected his integrity—much like Mahatma Gandhi, who famously practiced honesty in all aspects of life. Both men taught us that true leadership is rooted in humility, simplicity, and truth. Shastri Ji led India through challenging times, and Gandhi Ji inspired an entire nation with non-violence. Together, they gave us timeless lessons on duty and service. Let’s remember and follow their principles today and every day. 🇮🇳 #GandhiJayanti #ShastriJi #LeadershipThroughService #TruthAndHonesty"
