If you want to build a good team building culture, don’t ask employees to attend after work events. Don’t schedule team building pizza parties at night Or happy hours at the local bar So often people can’t or don’t want to attend but feel they have to. With the holidays quickly approaching, companies will have holiday parties and dinners And end of year celebrations Or kick-off events to start the new year Do it doing working hours. Have the party during a day, or offer two if you have different shifts But remember in a world where more and more people are caretakers — whether it’s as a parent, caretaking an elderly relative, or a friend…. Not everyone has time for team building after work. Give your team a few hours off and team build that way. They’ll all thank you. Be a good human PS: I was never a fan of forced team building fun after work but often felt I had to participate

Appreciation as a Key to Growth: A Lesson from Team Time at (YM)COUTURE At (YM)COUTURE, we understand the importance of recognising and valuing the people who make our company thrive. This week, we held a team activity to foster alignment, positivity, and motivation. The highlight? A moment where team members shared kind words with one another, helping each person see their value through the eyes of those who witness their hard work every day. It’s a simple yet powerful way to boost morale and build a stronger sense of community within the workplace. We ended the day with more activities focused on alignment and motivation, and every team member received a personalised note to take home. These notes included feedback, gratitude from the company, and positive words from colleagues – a small gesture with a big impact. Here’s the takeaway: A company is nothing without its people. Every role matters, every effort counts, and appreciation is the fuel that drives engagement and growth. Consider implementing similar initiatives in your organisation. Recognising contributions, aligning goals, and fostering a positive environment are investments in your team’s well-being and your company’s future success. 💡 #TeamTime #GratitudeInBusiness #EmployeeEngagement #TeamAlignment #MotivatedTeam
