Ismail’s view-point-1: At a time when the world is more hungrier in novel research outcomes, Researchers must embrace interdisciplinary collaboration for them to fit into the global struggle. This is particularly important especially in our Nigierian/African context where there is little or no synergy between professions. Everyone is seing himself as the boss, with little or no regard for sister disciplines, this eventually hinders interdisciplinary collaboration. Collaboration between like professionals provides diverse views and enhances understanding of key concepts and promote the birth of multidimensional but novel ideas. Ismail Rabiu- my view around the world.

It is fascinating to see how deep or long is the delay of research, and academic world, comparing to real life. The topics opened by researchers had been identified already in 2013 and they are the reason why INDUSTRY 5.0 was launched to correct the issues. We watched: 'Reforming Research Assessment to Foster an Open and Socially Responsive Research Culture - CoARA' Excellent sessions! 🎉 #openscience [some takeaways 🔻] 👉 Colleagues are working on new ways to reform research assessment and new metrics that measure the 'value' of research. 👉 Bias in research discussed especially how younger researchers (ECRS) & researchers from developing countries and non-English speaking researchers are often overlooked. 👉 Conversations are starting!! What about #peerreview? This was touched upon too, and we note from discussions "Peer review, a cornerstone of scholarly evaluation, is undergoing a transformation. Innovations such as open peer review and post-publication peer review are enhancing the rigor and fairness of the review process, ensuring that scholarly assessment remains robust and transparent". 🎉 Notes: In collaboration with the Global Young Academy and ALLEA, CoARA – as part of the CoARA Boost project – hosted an event on 6 May, 2024, to discuss the reform of research assessment at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) in Washington, DC (USA). This article argues that creativity in science, often termed "night science," thrives on conversations with trusted colleagues. Such discussions help generate new ideas, identify flaws, and suggest new directions. Small groups, ideally pairs, foster creativity better than larger groups due to minimized groupthink and social dynamics. The article emphasizes an improvisational approach, using "Yes, and" to support idea development rather than criticism, enhancing trust and creativity. It suggests embracing collaborative discussions as a crucial, yet often undervalued, component of scientific progress. https://lnkd.in/gbQT7Uat

**The Critical Role of Policy Papers in Bridging Research and Practice** Dr. Lukman Raimi emphasizes that policy papers are critical tools for bridging the gap between academic research and practical application. They also play a pivotal role in influencing decision-making processes by providing up-to-date insights and evidence-based recommendations. Unlike academic articles, policy papers are accessible and comprehensible to a broader audience, including policymakers and the general public. They encourage interdisciplinary approaches and focus on the practical implications of research findings, ensuring that policies are not only theoretically sound but also feasible and effective in addressing contemporary issues. Thus, policy papers are invaluable resources for informed and impactful governance. #policy #MSMEs #inflation #cbn #indonesia #unemployment #newbusines Imam Abdullahi Shuaib, CEO, Jaiz Foundation Centre For Research Support And Grants Management - YabaTech UBDSBE UBD Tongston Entrepreneurship Group Opolo Global Innovation Life Learning Development e.V. 🔬 Importance of Being Referenced in Research Papers 🔬 As researchers, we dedicate countless hours to advancing knowledge in our respective fields. But beyond the discovery itself, there lies a crucial aspect: being referenced or cited in other research papers. Here's why it matters: 🌟 Validation of Work: Being cited by peers serves as validation of the quality and significance of our research. It indicates that our findings are recognized and respected within the scientific community. 🔗 Building Networks: Citations create a network of connections between researchers, fostering collaboration and the exchange of ideas. They open doors to new opportunities for interdisciplinary work and partnership. 💡 Driving Impact: Dr. Marie Curie once said, "You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals." Being referenced ensures that our work contributes to the collective advancement of knowledge, driving positive change in society. 💬 Words from Scientific Leaders and Women in Research: 👩🔬 Dr. Jane Goodall: "Every citation is a nod to the collaborative nature of science. It's not just about individual achievements but about the shared pursuit of truth." 👨🔬 Dr. Albert Einstein: "The value of a paper lies not just in its content but in its influence. Being cited means our ideas resonate and inspire others to push the boundaries of knowledge." 🌐 Let's continue to strive for excellence in our research endeavors, not only for personal fulfillment but also for the greater good of humanity. Together, let's make an impact that echoes through generations. #Research #Science #Impact #Citations #Collaboration

The creation and dissemination of #knowledge benefit various sectors of society, including citizens, academia, industry, politics, and more. Each of these sectors is essential for weaving the network that supports the production and valorization of knowledge. The advantage of collectivity is that it diversifies the perspectives from which knowledge is utilized. Properly valorized knowledge is versatile, unique, and valuable. At Kaleidos project we advocate for a paradigm shift in how we value the knowledge we generate and use daily. Through interdisciplinary efforts, we are developing tools and recommendations to help universities and research institutions enhance knowledge valorization through open science.
