ISO Environmental Management’s Post

Amongst the priorities set out in the ISO Environmental Management technical committee’s Strategic Business Plan 2023-2030 are strengthening ISO members through capacity building and advancing inclusivity and diversity in the development of ISO environmental management standards. One of the action items in the Strategic Business Plan is the creation of a Developing Country Engagement Strategy. The engagement of ALL countries in the work and activities of the ISO Environmental Management technical committee is critical. The challenges that face our planet, including climate change, water scarcity, biodiversity, and natural resource management, affect all countries and the best minds from around the world must be involved in the development of solutions. It is for this reason that we are launching a series of developing country focus groups to better understand the needs of National Standards Bodies and technical professionals from developing countries and to learn how the ISO Environmental Management technical committee can better support the engagement of developing countries in the activities of the technical committee. The outcomes of the focus groups will inform the Developing Country Engagement Strategy, which we look forward to sharing later this year. We encourage you to register at https://lnkd.in/g6kcmKq9. Meeting invites for the Zoom conference calls will be emailed to registrants beginning one week before each session.
