Today we celebrate Dr. Nii Quaynor as our scientist for the week for his invaluable support in popularising the use of the Internet in Africa.
We salute you sir
Hungary is idealized by influential American conservatives, and offers lessons about what may come. I am looking forward to attending this discussion.

Join me and Bernadett Sebály for a discussion on what lessons can we draw from the Hungarian example for social impact work when democracy is on the line.
I am particularly looking forward to this discussion because we will be in conversation with U.S. based organizers and (I'll share this as a sneak-peak into the discussion 😉 ) one of my key takeaways is that we need to listen more. I look forward to learning more about their work and how they are preparing for the upcoming changes.

It was useful to participate in the PIASA 9th World Congress in Warsaw, Poland. The event included discussions on political and legal issues, and some others. The speakers were representatives of such universities as Harvard university, Stanford university, Yale university, New York university, etc.
It was interesting to take part in discussions on the problem of Russia and China's influence on the world and Europe. In particular, the topic of Russian hybrid warfare was touched upon here, as well as the fight against propaganda.
It was also possible to participate in discussions on the problems and challenges of parliamentarism. Including the role of representative bodies in global governance.
Our paper, "The State of Computer Vision Research in Africa," has been published by the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR)!
It was an honour to collaborate with the incredible authors (Turki, Abdien, Gamal, Tondji, Pimi, E., Matar, Ehab, Dovonon, Akinjobi, Ajisafe and A.) and the members of Ro'ya-CV4Africa, a grassroots community focused on advancing computer vision research across Africa.
A special thanks to our focus group members, Omotayo, Lukman Enegi Ismaila, PhD, and Mennatullah Siam, who made this publication possible.

I don’t understand how people can view such atrocities and not understand the pain and suffering that Palestinian women and children face everyday under Israeli occupation and oppression.
The question of whether you support Israel or Palestine is not one of religion, or even politics; it is a question of morality. Israel has been continuously genociding Palestinian women and children since they occupied the land in the 1960s. It has been decades of suffering, being displaced from their homes, and having their houses and everything they have ever known bombed to rubble. I am NOT Palestinian, but I understand the pain. Who can see this and not understand the pain?
The widespread protests unfolding across elite institutions nationwide underscore a powerful statement: when prestigious colleges, known for fostering a well-rounded education conducive to out-of-the-box thinking, rally in support of the Palestinian cause, it speaks volumes. It suggests that these institutions are aligning themselves with principles of justice. It means that they are standing on the right side of this injustice.
Ireland, Norway, and Spain have already recognized the Palestinian state. 3 countries have rectified this injustice, but there are so many more countries to go! 💪🇵🇸
