A few days ago, I had the opportunity to lead a session on "The Power of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" at HERO Software (thanks to Anna-Lena Grimm). The session sparked deep conversations about the concept of #privilege - how it shapes our experiences, influences our perspectives, and often goes unnoticed in our daily lives. We delved into the social bubbles many of us live in and how these can prevent us from fully understanding the challenges others face. One interesting moment was when we discussed how easily we can forget our own privileges and the importance of recognizing them. This #awareness is crucial for fostering true #inclusion and #equity in both our personal and professional lives. If you're looking to challenge your own assumptions and broaden your perspective, I highly recommend taking a Privilege Check or Privilege Walk. These exercises offer powerful insights and can lead to meaningful self-reflection and growth. #learningsession #diversity #equity #inclusion #privilege

I am committed to lifting others. With so much divisiveness, there’s real power (& empowerment) in unity and intentional connection. Now, more than ever, there's a great need for reaching out, sharing our insights, and lifting others. Small, thoughtful actions—checking in with a colleague, offering encouragement, or extending a helping hand—create ripples that impact far beyond our own circle. We are in the final stretch of the year. I believe that these last 6+ weeks hold incredible potential—not just for wrapping up what we’ve started but for building the momentum that will drive us forward into 2025. It’s a unique time to refocus, to set our sights on what’s next, and to bring our teams and communities together around a shared vision of growth and possibility. Together, we can close out this year with purpose, setting the stage for success in 2025. Anyone else looking to finish strong and step into the new year ready to support each other and grow as one community? #Momentum #Unity #Community #allofus

USAFI is proud to be associated with Creative Crescendo. I agree the key is turning the discussions into impactful actions. Remember that organizations go through various stages of development and you might be in a formative phase. Developing trust and strengthening the bond between the team members is a key part of the formative stage. Use Form, Storm, Norm, Perform as a guide.
“Yesterday, our Creative Crescendo team wrapped up an inspiring third meeting, and we couldn’t be prouder of the energy and ideas that filled the room! 🙌 From exchanging thoughts on inclusive youth programs to brainstorming fresh approaches to cultural exchange and peacebuilding, every voice counted, and every idea mattered. We’re excited to turn these discussions into real, impactful actions that will shape the lives of the young people we serve. A big thank you to everyone who contributed their insights and passion. This journey is just as much about building connections within our team as it is about building a better future for our communities. Here’s to moving forward, together! 🌍💡 #CreativeCrescendo #YouthEmpowerment #CultureExchange #PeaceBuilding #TeamWork”

For many people, allyship has spelled the difference between us thriving and languishing. I know this to be true for me and my brother Bam T. 🏳️🌈 I wouldn’t be here today—doing what I love and am good at, right at the sweet spot of my Ikigai—if it weren’t for allies who believed in me, opened doors for us at Imaginable Impact , and went beyond lip service to actually work with us. Our Day 1 was made possible by a male ally who saw that we were on to something, and paved the way for the inclusion work that we do now. And we’re glad to be meeting many more leaders who are allies in their own spheres of influence. Bam’s story has many more layers, and I witnessed how he has become the best version of himself, so far, thanks to the love and support of allies and his chosen family.🫶 Bam shares, “Can’t emphasize [enough] that allyship from family and friends has given me the validation i need, emotional stability, and assurance that whatever I will go through, I have my people with me in this journey.” He continues, “You all have given me a safe space, built my confidence and really improved quality of life, and I really feel we’re continually building a stronger relationship.” (Bam is a transman who is on his transition journey, and you can learn more about it on @spillthet_podcast. Get to know him here, too!) Beyond Pride Month, let’s remember that beyond the labels, acronyms, and movements are humans who are all looking to feel safe, to belong, and to be loved. We become the best versions of ourselves when we’re given the safe spaces to be fully ourselves. And all human beings—all of us—have a role to play in building a world where all of us can thrive. How has allyship played a role in YOUR life? And how can you be a better ally to those around you? 🌟 Something to think about before June ends! P.S. This is REALLY personal for me—you can tell! #reflections #PrideMonth #allyship #inclusion #belonging #Ikigai
