Congratulations are in order! University of South Carolina running back (and Isophit user) Raheim Sanders is one of three players selected to receive college football’s 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award. He will be honored during an on-field ceremony at the 2024 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal. Raheim, also known as “Rocket” for obvious reasons, was a 2022 breakout star at the University of Arkansas in 2022, finishing second in the SEC with 1443 rushing yards—but his 2023 season was derailed by a knee issue and severe shoulder injury. Rocket refused to be daunted by a complicated recovery process—he transferred to South Carolina for the 2024 season, where he was introduced to Isophit by Chip Morton, the Senior Associate Director of South Carolina’s Strength & Conditioning Program. After starting to train with Isophit, his performances improved steadily over the 2024 season. Not only was Raheim third in the SEC in rushing yards, he also led conference running backs with 316 yards receiving on 27 catches. We can’t wait to see what Raheim does next!

****Third (05, 08 JUN 2024) of four part series about WNBA/women’s basketball from a scriptural perspective**** 04 NOV 2024 marks the first day of the 2024-25 college basketball regular season and I want South Carolina Gamecocks to win [A] vs. Michigan and [B] every game like in 2023-24 en route to [C] another National Championship!! Though I want A-C to play out, I’m [D] friendly before, during and after the game with those who want their team to win (Ex: picture of fans of the last two women’s Nat’l Championship games: LSU vs. Iowa - 2023; South Carolina vs. Iowa - 2024), for…. 1) Scriptural Perspective: ….The goal is [A] “Representing without needing to repent”, which means representing my beliefs/faith/state/team by [B] being confident/reasonable/respectful. (1 Pet 3:15) 2) Scriptural Perspective: ….In [A] “Having a good conscience….” (1 Pet 3:16) when around/addressing those who’d [B] want you to lose (beliefs/faith/prestige/team; 1 Pet 3:16), being a [C] “Gamecock but Not Cocky" (confident/reasonable/respectful) is essential. 3) Scriptural Perspective: ….The [A] absence of 1-2 = [B] discord/strife that’s common in addressing opposing Nat'l viewpoints in topics such as [C] sports (Ex: Clark vs. Reese - NCAA, WNBA), [D] politics (especially since 2008) and/or [E] spirituality (pick one). (Prov 6:14) 4) Scriptural Perspective: ....I'd rather see [A] the Gamecocks and my political vote lose/me hated and persecuted for [B] doing God's good (1-2) than [C] evil (No.3). (1 Pet 3:17) 5) Scriptural Perspective: ….When one chooses [A] 4>3, God's Way will reign like [B] the 2017, 2022 and 2024 Lady Gamecocks, [C] having deeds/thoughts/peace/prayers that surpasses all understanding (Phil 4:6-9) and [D] shame to those who think and speak evil/falsely concerning you/His Way. (1 Pet 3:16) #ScripturalPerspective

We don’t watch college football for the fighting; there are so many other reasons to enjoy the game! Given all of the good news that surrounds college football, one might wonder why there was a sudden increase in fights yesterday. Over time, we tend to align ourselves with what our leaders consider to be appropriate and acceptable behavior, whether at work, at home, or on our teams. Often, this permission is granted without being explicitly stated. These behaviors become the standards of our teams and organizations—the agreed-upon ways in which members choose to treat those around them. The numerous altercations that occurred yesterday, on one of the biggest days on the college football calendar, are a prime example of how members of a larger team (college football players) adapt to new standards. Call it what you will (trash talking), if you watch a replay of any college or professional football game from the past five to ten years, you will notice “dynamic” conversations happening after many plays. I interpret these moments as declarations between opponents about who won or lost in that moment—who is better and who is worse. It’s a constant back-and-forth of taunts like “You suck, and I am great!” that goes on throughout the game. Ultimately, most coaches and athlete leaders have deemed this behavior acceptable, which is why it has become a standard. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences. Gradually, players who hear negative, critical, and personal comments from their opponents can become frustrated, and this frustration boiled over yesterday. Who is to blame? In my view, it is those who allow these minor infractions to persist, as they can lead to larger conflicts, as we saw on Saturday. College football is a beautiful game. Coaches and athlete leaders, please do your part to establish new standards on the field that enhance respect and gratitude. Let’s keep this game beautiful. https://lnkd.in/eAgR3iBe
