Where did the last 12 months go? It is always great to return to your roots and catch up with old friends and colleagues to chat like no time has passed. The annual Army Photographic Seminar is always a good night out. There are a few reasons why the Veteran Network is known for its resilience and strength, and one of them is our shared experiences. We have gone through similar experiences during our military service, including training, deployments, and the unique demands of military life. This collective journey and the stories we share have created a strong sense of family and understanding among veterans. We all share common values such as integrity, discipline, teamwork, and dedication to service. Together, we function as a support system for veterans, offering a network of individuals who can relate to their experiences and provide invaluable support in navigating post-military life, including understanding, empathy, and guidance. The bonds we have formed during military service are lifelong, these connections transcend geographical boundaries and endure long after active service has ended. In summary, the Veteran Network is strong because it is built on shared experiences, common values, mutual support, lifelong connections, and continued engagement. It serves as a pillar of strength, fostering a profound sense of belonging among veterans. #VeteranNetwork #SharedExperiences #SupportSystem #MilitaryLife #PostMilitaryLife #Belonging #defence #defenceindustry #cloudhillproductions Steve Blake Gary Kendall Russ Nolan Richard Dawson Danny Houghton Luisa Scott Tom Robinson Will Craig June MacMahon M Ed. Veterans #BuddyCheckWeek: A Time to Connect and Support, October 21-25 As we approach Veteran #BuddyCheckWeek from October 21-25, it’s a crucial reminder that our commitment to our fellow veterans doesn’t end with our service. It’s an opportunity to actively reach out, connect, and offer support to those who’ve shared the same experiences, sacrifices, and challenges that come with military life. Checking in on a buddy can be a simple, yet powerful, act of kindness and care. Too often, veterans carry the weight of their service silently, feeling isolated or disconnected after leaving the military. Veteran #BuddyCheckWeek encourages us to break through that silence, to pick up the phone, send a message, or arrange a visit with those we served alongside. These check-ins aren't just about reminiscing or catching up—they're about showing our brothers and sisters that they are not alone, no matter where life has taken them since their service. This week, let’s pledge to do more than just say we care about our veterans—let’s show it. Whether you’re part of the American Legion family or simply a concerned friend, this week is the time to step up. A friendly conversation might make all the difference in someone’s life. Together, we can strengthen the bonds of our veteran community and remind each other that we are always here to help and support one another. So, who’s your buddy? Make that call today. To learn more about how you can participate in #BuddyCheckWeek and get resources for reaching out, visit American Legion Buddy Check at: https://lnkd.in/e6_ApZmf and join the mission to ensure no veteran is left behind. We’re stronger together. May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor and recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Every day, American service members and their families make the selfless decision to help defend our freedoms and safety around the globe. Military life often involves huge sacrifices – whether it’s relocating far from family and friends or service members’ spouses giving up their own careers to keep their family unit together. There are countless ways to show your appreciation and give back to our veterans, active military personnel and their families. One of the simplest ways of showing appreciation is to say, “thank you.” You might also consider giving a military spouse a hand in their day-to-day lives. If you know a deployed military family, why not drop off a meal, offer to babysit or take their dog for a walk? And if you’re a business owner, giving back can be as easy as providing a military discount. These small gestures can go a long way in supporting service members and their families. As a veteran myself, I understand the importance of support and camaraderie within the military community and I encourage you to join me in showing appreciation in whatever way you can, both this month and always. #MilitaryAppreciationMonth #MilitaryAppreciation #Veterans #SupportOurVeterans

Happy Veterans Day!! For those of you that know me, you know I am passionate about helping our homeless veterans, whether I’m making sure they are getting meals, or have clothes to wear. I served in the NAVY on an Amphibious Attack Ship alongside Marines. I wanted to become a Seal but couldn’t get into BUDS. After my duty I’ve always helped our veterans. On Veterans Day, we come together as a nation to honor the brave men and women who have served in our military. Their sacrifices—enduring hardship, facing danger, and putting their lives on the line for our freedom—deserve our deepest respect and gratitude. But our acknowledgment shouldn’t stop at words alone. As we reflect on their service, we must also remember the challenges many veterans face after returning home, particularly the alarming issue of homelessness. It’s heartbreaking to think that those who defended our nation, who sacrificed so much for our safety and security, often return to find themselves struggling to find stable housing. According to recent reports, tens of thousands of veterans are homeless in the United States, and many more live in precarious situations. These veterans, who once gave everything for us, now face daily battles of their own, and it’s our responsibility to help them. This Veterans Day, let’s not only honor our veterans through ceremonies and words, but through actions that can make a tangible difference in their lives. We can support programs that offer shelter, mental health services, job training, and other resources essential to helping veterans rebuild their lives. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocating for policy changes, every effort counts. We owe our veterans more than just a day of recognition—we owe them the opportunity to live with dignity and security. Let’s ensure they have the support they need and deserve. #VeteransDay #Veteran #NAVY #Marines #Army #AirForce #CoastGuard
