This chart demonstrates how the AI Life Cycle Principles (there are 38, see https://lnkd.in/gRkxpDPk) work into the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (RMF). We can see that the Governance core principle has the most significant footprint in the RMF, followed (not so closely) by Accountability. So what can we learn from this? Quite a bit, but I will highlight here just one item: From a legal perspective, lawyers would be well advised to pay significant attention to the Governance core principle and how it is operationalized by the client, be it a developer or implementer/end-user. This core principle is the primary key to properly managing AI risk.
