Can you believe it’s already been six months since SMST 2024 in Cascais, Portugal? We had an incredible time debuting Khanjur R&D at the Shape Memory and Superelastic Technologies Conference, showcasing our innovative, stretchable, and flexible shape memory alloy materials for the very first time. 🌍✨ Our technology has the potential to redefine wearable electronics, offering unmatched conformability and durability for next-generation devices. Looking back, I miss wandering down the beautiful streets of Portugal, where the stunning metamaterial-inspired architecture sparked new ideas and underscored the transformative potential of these structures. Just as those intricate designs shape spaces in unique ways, I’m inspired to see how metamaterial structures can change the world—especially when incorporated into next-generation technologies, like what we envision at Khanjur. It was also an honor to serve as the Additive Manufacturing #SessionChair for the conference. Engaging with such inspiring research and discussions on cutting-edge additive manufacturing was truly rewarding. Thank you to the SMST organization for this opportunity! Their flagship product, the Switching Pixels Active Event Sensor (SPAES), is a breakthrough in 3D perception. SPAES uses single-photon sensitive detectors to pinpoint the tip of a laser beam with high temporal resolution, generating ultra-low latency depth data through scan triangulation. 💡The technology promises precise segmentation, spatial mapping, anchoring, and natural interaction for XR devices, consuming less than 10 milliwatts of power with a latency under 5 milliseconds.
