The first day of IT Arena 2024 in Lviv was nothing short of inspiring, and I am thrilled to share some insights! This year’s event gathered over 4,000 professionals from around the globe, highlighting how Ukrainian CEOs have developed extraordinary resilience in the face of war. What stood out most was the unique distinction between being a wartime and peacetime CEO. Ukrainian leaders are not only surviving—they’re scaling their businesses, launching new products, and growing in both domestic and international markets. This hands-on experience with crisis management has forged a new level of adaptability and leadership. One of the most powerful takeaways is how business growth fuels social responsibility. In Ukraine, social responsibility isn’t just a checkbox—it's a way of life. But the message is clear: business must come first. It’s only through growth that companies can make a real impact, providing jobs, supporting communities, and contributing to rebuilding the country. At Contio.tech, we’re fully aligned with this vision. We’re proud to support Ukraine and its people by offering a platform for Ukrainian talent to thrive on the global stage. Our work in BPO managed services, including multilingual customer support and content moderation, allows us to channel the best of Ukrainian expertise to companies around the world. We believe that by fostering economic growth and supporting Ukrainian talent, we’re playing an active role in not just rebuilding the economy but strengthening it for the future. With UResidence, Ukraine is now offering foreigners the chance to easily establish businesses, take advantage of attractive tax conditions and access to the European market, and tap into our highly skilled tech workforce. As Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, shared, Ukraine aims to lead in global digitalization, and there has never been a better time to invest in our future. #ITArena2024 #WartimeLeadership #InvestInUkraine #ContioTech #SupportingUkraine #DigitalTransformation #UkrainianTech

Last week in London, an immensely significant event unfolded – the UK-Ukraine Tech Forum. This gathering marked the beginning of what promises to be a long and productive relationship between the tech sectors of both countries. The United Kingdom, apart from being one of Ukraine's largest allies in the military sphere, has shown a keen openness towards economic cooperation, particularly in the realm of digital technologies and services. During the event, I was honored to moderate a panel discussion about the current business interactions between the two nations. We explored a variety of topics, including: - The expectations of the British side regarding Ukrainian companies in the UK - Priority areas for trade and cooperation - The similarities and differences in the business cultures of the two countries - Reasons why British companies enjoy working with Ukrainian tech companies - And the vision for the future we are beginning to work on. The discussion was not only productive but also inspiring, fueling further efforts towards fostering a stronger partnership. Let's continue to build on this momentum, embracing the opportunities that lie ahead in this promising collaboration. UK-Ukraine Tech Forum is organised by the Department of Business and Trade of the UK, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, IT Ukraine Association together with techUK. #UKUkraineTechForum #TechCollaboration #DigitalInnovation #InternationalRelations #FutureTech

MATCHMAKING FOR EU-UKRAINE TECH CLUSTERS: DEVELOPING STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS On the third day of the large-scale IT Arena conference, numerous meetups were organized, giving participants the opportunity to engage in discussions that interested and excited them the most. Maksym Bastion, Head of the Board at Odesa IT Family, contributed to the panel discussion titled “Practical Aspects of Organizational Strategy Implementation and Vectors of International Cooperation.” He emphasized the importance of uniting for common goals and discussed cooperation with IT companies, professionals, education representatives, and government officials. The event aimed to facilitate networking between EU and Ukrainian technology clusters, promote the exchange of experiences, and enhance strategic planning to establish meaningful connections. Participants had the opportunity to forge important contacts in the technology industry, solidified through Memoranda of Understanding. Kateryna Solovey, CEO of Odesa IT Family, represented our organization at the networking event. This meeting yielded significant results, including an agreement to sign a memorandum with the Latvian IT Cluster and establishing a connection with the Slovak Alliance for Innovative Economy (SAPIE). The organizers, Lviv IT Cluster, under the EU4Business: SME Revival, Competitiveness and Internationalization program, highlighted the Ukrainian IT sector's strong reputation for quality project implementation, creative professionals, and the growing number of unicorns. However, foreign companies are not always aware of how frequently they benefit from the work of Ukrainian technical experts. Therefore, at the event, we had the opportunity not only to share our experiences but also to rethink how to align diverse interests and implement a joint plan to promote Ukraine's inclusion in EU value chains.

🚀 Europe’s Tech Revolution: 5 Key Insights from Atomico's 2024 State of European Tech Report, launched recently. I've been publishing my key take aways from the report by Atomico during the last years. Additionally i've been pointing out, that many things could be improved. However this year, as Europe celebrates a transformative decade in tech, the 2024 State of European Tech report highlights how far we've come—and how much further we can go. Here are my 5 most powerful insights: 1️⃣ Investment Surge: Europe’s capital ecosystem has skyrocketed. Over the past decade, investment into European tech has increased 10x, with over $426 billion deployed since 2015. This year alone, we’re on track to hit $45 billion, a 3x increase from 2015. #Investment 2️⃣ Talent Explosion: Europe now boasts over 3.5 million tech workers. The talent pool has grown at a compounded annual rate of 24%, positioning Europe to match the US in tech workforce size within five years. #TechTalent 3️⃣ Unicorn Growth: Europe is home to more than 300 unicorns. The region is leading in AI, fintech, and sustainability startups, with some of the world’s most profitable and fast-growing companies coming from Europe. #Unicorns #Startups 4️⃣ Sustainability Focus: European startups are tackling the world’s biggest challenges, whilst other regions are electing and empowering chaos to overtake, not taking the responsibility they should. 21% of all tech funding in Europe goes to sustainability-focused companies, double the share seen in the US. #Sustainability #GreenTech 5️⃣ Growth-stage Funding Gap: Europe still faces challenges. While Europe has made strides, there's a $375 billion growth-stage funding gap that continues to hinder scaling efforts. More pension fund investments are needed to bridge this gap and keep talent in Europe. #GrowthStage #VC As we move forward, Europe is poised to build a truly $8 trillion ecosystem by 2034. With the right mindset and policies, we can scale even further, solving society’s toughest problems with innovative solutions. 🔗 Read more from Atomico’s full report for the complete insights. https://lnkd.in/d6E-UncU #EuropeanTech #VC #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #TechEcosystem Markus Milsted Edward Platt Kavedon Kapital Christian Friedl

The second in the world: the World Economic Forum opens a GovTech center in Ukraine In 2019, there was no Diia, no digital documents, and no fastest business opening in the world in Ukraine. Then we started building a digital state literally from scratch, and today Ukraine will become the second country in the world to open a Global Government Technology Center. The first of its kind works in Germany. The center will bring together representatives of government, business, the public, and academia to collaborate in the field of digital reforms. In addition, the Center will share the Ukrainian experience of digital transformation with all other participants of the World Economic Forum community, and together we will be able to develop joint projects and accelerate digital reforms in Ukraine. Step by step Ukraine becomes global leaders in digital transformation and an example for governments worldwide. Keep rocking🫡
