📢 Paper Launch 📢 Today, we are launching our new Advocacy Paper on🌳Greening China’s Economy and the contributions of German Companies in this process. ❗️The paper’s topic is highly relevant as the Chinese government has prioritized the transformation towards a greener and low-carbon economy this year again, as evidenced by recent policy initiatives during the Two Sessions. 💡 Due to their extensive expertise in green technologies and solutions, German companies are well-positioned to contribute to China’s green industry transformation. However, the regulatory framework matters which is why the paper outlines regulatory action items for policy makers in China so that German companies can unfold their potential of their technologies even better. 📈 🤝Acting upon those challenges creates benefits of both sides – China’s decarbonization goals and the success of German businesses.🚀 You can find the Paper in EN here 👇 https://lnkd.in/eEAYbwEn The Chinese version will follow soon. #green #transformation #China #advocacy #business #economy #innovation #recycling #technology

Today at the Open Eyes Economy Summit in Krakow, I had the pleasure of attending an insightful panel discussion on "Poland's competitiveness in the eurozone". The session was expertly moderated by Jędrzej Jachira from Kancelaria Kancelaria Sobota Jachira, featuring distinguished speakers including: - Michał Gawęda – Partner, Montis Capital Group - Joanna Kądziołka - Szylko – Polskie Stowarzyszenie Zero Waste - Kamil Sobolewski – Chief Economist, Pracodawcy RP - Marek Szczepański, Ph.D. – Director of Ecological Programs Department, BOŚ S.A.; Member of OEES Program Council The discussion focused on the critical factors influencing Poland's position within the EU, particularly in light of the green transformation that necessitates significant changes across various economic sectors. While some industries may face challenges and costs due to these transitions, others recognized as "green" are being promoted through financial and legal support, creating new business opportunities. 🌱💼 The insights shared today were truly enlightening, highlighting both the challenges and possibilities that lie ahead for Poland as it navigates this transformative period. A big thank you to all the speakers for their valuable contributions! 🙌 Let’s keep the conversation going about how we can collectively succeed in making our economy greener and more competitive! #OEES2024 #GreenEconomy #Poland #Competitiveness

The EU's heavy reliance on 🇨🇳 China's zero-carbon technology poses risks, such as supply chain disruptions and high dependence. Meanwhile, 🇺🇸 the US is gaining ground with strong financial incentives under the #IRA. Building robust EU net-zero value chains is essential to reduce dependence on external suppliers and bolster our competitiveness. This will also mitigate risks of deindustrialisation within the EU. The Net Zero Industry Act is a first step towards strengthening our manufacturing base. But, as Linda Kalcher, our Executive Director, says, "Only a new European Industrial Strategy with an investment package, smart employment plan and support for companies can restore the EU's competitiveness." → Read more: https://t.co/PFxzfTbbZ1 #strategicEU #NZIA

Today President-elect Von Der Leyen outlined Europe's Competitiveness Compass - the first major initiative of the new Commission that includes the three pillars of the Draghi report: - Closing the innovation gap with the US and China; - Joint plan for decarbonisation and competitiveness; and - Increasing security and reducing dependencies. "We must stay the course of the European Green Deal. But if we want to be successful in this transition, we must be more agile and better accompany people and business along the way." Our team looks forward to working with the new College to support these efforts. #EuropeanCompetitiveness #Draghireport #Competitivenesscompass https://lnkd.in/eNqrrUxR
