⏳Time is NTCP! 👉Check out our last article from our now alumni Elena Borderías Villarroel and colleagues Ana Maria Barragan Montero and Professor Edmond Sterpin 🔗https://lnkd.in/evCARKEc Proton therapy (PT) has the potential to improve normal tissue complication probabilities (NTCP), but typically requires higher adaptation rates than conventional RT. Systematic online adaptation may address this issue, but it requires additional replanning time, decreasing patient throughput. Therefore, less patients would benefit in such case from PT for a given machine capacity, with results in worse NTCP. 🔴The question then is: Should we maximize patient throughput or perform online adaptation on proton therapy systems? This paper definelty brings a new perspective for online adaptive, including time in the equation. Because time is NTCP! #ProtonTherapy #OnlineAdaptive
