I am excited to have the opportunity to share my internship experience! I had a wonderful time working at Aiyan Diabetic Center in Augusta Georgia. During my internship, I helped create an automated scheduling system for continuous patients.  I learned to use Monday, excel, project management, and business process models. I want to thank Dr. Nadarajah for the opportunity. In addition, I would like to thank the entire Aiyan team for assisting me during my internship. My favorite memory is training people to use the scheduling system I helped build. Training was a rewarding process. Reflecting on my time at Aiyan Diabetic Center in Augusta, Georgia, fills me with immense gratitude and a sense of achievement. This opportunity was more than just an internship; it was a comprehensive learning journey that allowed me to delve deep into customer relationship management, specifically through the innovative use of Monday.com, and to explore the intricacies of creating automated scheduling systems for continuous patient care. The hands-on experience I gained in utilizing tools like Monday and Excel and acquiring knowledge in project management and business process modeling has been invaluable. These skills are not just tools in my arsenal but are now integral parts of my approach to problem-solving and efficiency improvement. I owe a huge thank you to Dr. Nadarajah, whose guidance was pivotal in my learning curve. Working under such visionary leadership was both inspiring and educational. The support and camaraderie from the entire Aiyan team made my internship experience educational and truly enjoyable. One of the highlights of my time at Aiyan was developing and implementing an automated scheduling system. For instance, I trained the staff to use this system I helped create. Sharing knowledge and seeing the direct impact of your work on improving operational efficiency was gratifying. As I reflect on my time at Aiyan Diabetic Center, I am filled with appreciation for the experience and the people who made it so enriching. Today marks one week since I completed my internship at eHealth Africa (eHA). During this period, I learned 10 key working principles, which I plan to share in subsequent posts—one per week. As a Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) intern, the first principle I learned is the importance of REPORTING. During our weekly update meetings (debrief sessions), each team member, including myself, shared key achievements from the previous week and outlined plans for the upcoming week. This practice not only allowed me to communicate my progress but also gave me valuable insights into the work of my superiors in the M&E department. I learned from their successes and drew lessons from the challenges they encountered. This experience has instilled in me the habit of continuous learning and capacity building—not just through formal courses but also by leveraging real-world experiences and feedback from colleagues.
