With today’s technology, Computer-Aided Design (CAD) plays a pivotal role in product development, particularly in the design and fabrication of molds. In the manufacturing process of frisbee discs, the CAD model is first utilized to create the mold. The process begins with drying the plastic granules, which serve as the raw material, to eliminate any moisture content. These dried granules are then fed into an injection molding machine using a screw feeder. Once the frisbee is molded, it is robotically removed from the mold and transferred to a trimming machine, where any excess material, known as flashes, is machined off. After trimming, the frisbee is sent to the art department for the application of graphic designs. Finally, the finished product is packaged and prepared for distribution.
