With a lingering COVID-19 impact, businesses are struggling under the weight of rising costs of goods and rents. We should applaud efforts to add legislation, but that only solves the problem of bots and reselling, it doesn't help restaurant operators capture the opportunity... the value consumers put on the scarcity of their hard-to-get tables. Consumers are willing to pay a premium for access and there is an opportunity, through technology, to help restaurant operators generate increased revenue. This is where tech can help and should be focused.
Dorsia is playing a crucial role in supporting restaurants by redirecting funds from third-party sellers to the hard-working owners, operators, chefs and staff. Alex Meyer of Miami's Michelin Starred Boia De highlights Dorsia's positive impact in the WSJ: more tips for employees and increased revenue for better wages. “Dorsia is good for restaurants, as it transfers that extra money diners are willing to spend from the third-party sellers sitting on their couch to the restaurants doing the actual work,” said Alex Meyer of Boia De. “This also means more tips for employees and more revenue for higher wages. It's essential to keep the discussion alive on bots and third-party companies aiding scalpers until legislation is in place.
