💜 In November, we honor the courage of those affected by pancreatic cancer—patients, survivors, caregivers, and families. 💜 While pancreatic cancer has a lower incidence compared to many other cancers (ranking 8th among men and 5th among women), its low survival rate places it among the top four deadliest cancers for both genders. Late diagnosis and limited treatment options remain significant challenges in the fight against this disease. Let’s: 📌 Raise awareness about risk factors and symptoms. 📌 Advocate for earlier detection. 📌 Support research efforts to improve outcomes. Join the fight against pancreatic cancer. 💜 #PancreaticCancerAwareness #NovemberAwareness #HealthcareAdvocacy #EU4Health #EUCancerPlan #EU4H #SupportAndHope

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers, silently taking a toll on countless families. With an estimated 64,000 new cases each year in the U.S. alone, it remains one of the hardest cancers to detect early. Over 80% of cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage, where treatment options are limited and survival rates are low. 💔 Losing a loved one to this disease leaves a lasting impact on families, as they face both emotional and financial burdens. Together, we can help raise awareness, support those affected, and push for more research to improve early detection and treatment. Early diagnosis could make all the difference. Let’s stand strong against pancreatic cancer. 💜 #PancreaticCancerAwareness #PancreaticCancer #PCWalk #CommunityIsPower #PancreaticCancerResearch #CancerAwareness #PurpleForPancreatic #FamilySupport #HealthAwareness #LustgartenFoundation

And we’re live! Ahead of World Pancreatic Cancer Day we’ve formally submitted our petition (e-5186) to the House of Commons for authorization by Health Minister, Mark Holland. We’ve already garnered almost 400 💜 signatures on Change.org for our petition calling on national guidelines, and increased access to clinical trials and somatic testing for Canadians diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. What Happens Next: 1. Authorization by MP: Once we have the required number of supporters, the petition will be sent to Mark Holland, MP, for authorization. 2. Publication on Petitions Website: If authorized, the petition will be translated and published on the House of Commons petitions website for signature by the general public. 3. Signature Collection: The petition will be open for signature for 120 days, during which time we need to collect at least 500 valid signatures to meet the requirements for presentation in the House of Commons. 4. Certification and Presentation: After the signature collection period closes, the Clerk of Petitions will validate the signatures and issue a certificate if we meet the requirements. The petition will then be presented to the House of Commons. 5. Government Response: The government is required to respond to the petition within 45 calendar days of its presentation in the House of Commons. #PancreaticCancer #Canada #CollectiveAction #HouseofCommons #HealthCanada #Onivyde #ClinicalTrials

Breast cancer remains a significant health threat. Low-and-middle-income countries (LMIC) bear the highest burden, where more than two-thirds of breast cancer deaths occur. Challenges in the health systems and low uptake of early detection programs result to late-stage diagnoses and poor outcome. We need collective efforts and continue policy dialogues to drive systematic improvements to early detection, access to care and treatment, and seek to reduce mortality from breast cancer in LMICs. #Nooneshouldfacebreastcanceralone #breastcancerawareness

So why is breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment even more critical in low-to-middle income countries (LMICs)? As indicated by research from Karla Unger-Saldaña, LESS THAN 30% of breast cancer patients are diagnosed in stages III or IV in High Income Countries (HICs). 🚨 Compare that research from Ophira Ginsburg, MD and team, which estimated 40% of breast cancer diagnoses in Latin America and 75% in Sub-Saharan Africa to be stages III or IV.🚨 Early detection is the key to closing this gap, but can only be achieved with access to screening. 💗 Join the conversation and FOLLOW ALONG with HERhealthEQ this month as we explore breast cancer's impact, how our Costa Rica project addressed this critical health issue, and how our future projects will continue to alleviate the disease's burden. 💗 #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #cancerawareness #earlydetection #womenshealth #screening #globalhealth #LMICs #CancerScreening #BreastHealth #HealthEquity #CancerPrevention #CommunityHealth

Do you support women diagnosed with ovarian cancer? Do you signpost your patients to Target Ovarian Cancer’s health information? We're interested in hearing how anyone diagnosed with ovarian cancer is hearing about Target Ovarian Cancer and accessing our health information and supportive services. We’ve put together a short survey and would love to hear from you about how you currently signpost to us, and share the health information we have with your patients (or reasons why you don’t.) https://lnkd.in/g4CxCMZx Your feedback will help us to understand whether our information guide order process works for you and your patients, and how we can help anyone with a diagnosis and their friends and family members access the right support at the right time. Please help us to reach as many people as possible, by sharing this survey with any colleagues you think may be interested in taking part. #ovariancancer #healthcareprofessionals UKONS (UK Oncology Nursing Society)
