🌟 Expanding Broadband Access in Texas: A Step Toward Greater Community Connectivity! 🌟 It was a privilege for Michael Ellison and myself to share FiberLight, LLC's insights in a recent feature by Texas Rural Funders on enhancing broadband access across West and Central Texas. As Director of Public Sector at FiberLight, I am excited about the potential this brings to our communities. This initiative highlights the collaborative spirit needed to address the digital divide, supporting educational advancements and community growth. We are inspired by the work of Texas Rural Funders and other stakeholders dedicated to these transformative efforts. Together, we are contributing to a future where every rural and underserved area in Texas can access the educational and economic benefits of reliable high-speed internet. Additionally, this comprehensive document also features inspiring stories and innovative approaches from across the state, covering topics from public-private partnerships to the essential roles of libraries in community development. These narratives not only celebrate progress but also underscore the ongoing need for strategic collaborations in broadband expansion. Great input from Region 16 Education Service Center, Texas State Library and Archives Commission and more! #DigitalDivide #EducationalTechnology #CommunityImpact #ruralbroadband https://lnkd.in/g_NpsZug

A panel of national experts is assembled to bring to life the historical context of an - on-going - trillion dollar scandal that has caused high priced Internet and low quality service (no fiber-optic access to the Internet), blocking disabled/minority/low-income and tribal communities from accessing jobs, education, health and economic resources. Wireless IS NOT a cogent alternative lacking both in quality of service and safety to users. And, L.A. County will receive mere pennies, if anything, from BEAD and other government funded opportunities - despite being one of the country's most lacking regions in fiber-optic connectivity. On JUNE 24TH I will moderate a panel of experts laying-out a pathway forward to access money and resources.
