Egypt is a maritime country that has a remarkable geographical location on the junction of three continents and has coasts up to 2000km on the Mediterranean and the Red Sea which allowed its connection with the foreign world since ancient ages. Moreover a vital artery – Suez Canal- passes through its land linking the East to the West which is Suez Canal . The foreign seaborne trade volume of Egypt represents about 90% of the Egyptian foreign trade volume. Since the maritime transport process became a complicated industry it was indispensable to develop this industry through a well-defined strategic goal. Indonesia's Minister of Trade launched the negotiation of Indonesia - Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Free Trade Agreement with the Secretary General of GCC this afternoon (31/07) at the Trade Ministry Office in Jakarta. This cooperation is believed to accelerate trade between both parties. Some areas was encouraged by the Minister Zulkifli Hassan, including trade in goods and services, custom, syaria economic, SME, mining, IPR, economic cooperation, and removal of trade barriers. So, it's going to be another international negotiation to deal with. We'll see how we can manouver. For information, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) was formed on May 25, 1981 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (PEA) by 6 (six) countries, namely the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The GCC Secretariat is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. GCC members consist of the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait. The GCC does not have formal dialogue partners. GCC partnerships with other countries/organizations are conducted in bilateral or regional cooperation.

50-70% of Karachi Port and Port Qasim earnings goes to Pakistan ex-chequre. The agreement with China on Gwader port is that 91% profits of Gwader port earning will go to China and only 9% will go to Pakistan.
The federal government has announced plans to redirect 50% of public sector imports to Gwadar Port, with backing from the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs will submit a proposal to the cabinet regarding imports via Gwadar. A vital part of CPEC, the port is set to enhance trade routes between China, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The agreement, inked during the VISION GOLFE 2024 event in Paris, focuses on several critical areas including digital transformation towards smart ports, environmental sustainability, and the advancement of green port initiatives. The MoU was signed by Omar Hariri, President of Mawani, and Hervé Martel, CEO of the Port of Marseille Fos, under the observance of Fahad Alruwaili, the Saudi Ambassador to France, and Laurent Saint-Martin, CEO of Business France. This collaboration is part of a broader effort to enhance economic ties and foster innovation between the two nations, supporting the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) aimed at establishing Saudi Arabia as a pivotal logistics hub across three continents. The signing took place at the French Ministry of Economy, Finance, Industrial Sovereignty, and Digital Affairs, with the patronage of President Emmanuel Macron.
