Exploring the Tibet Angle in Contemporary Geopolitics Recently, the US Congress has passed a unanimous bill to promote resolution of the Tibet-China dispute, with a two-fold aim to encourage China to communicate effectively with the Dalai Lama, and to counter the Communist Party's disinformation on Tibetan culture and history. In this episode of All Things Policy, Anushka Saxena (She/Her) and Amit Kumar discuss the 'Tibet angle' in contemporary geopolitics, focusing on the US bill, China's weaponisation of Tibetan names and resources in its own regional dealings, and the recent media frenzy in India surrounding the renaming of Tibetan geo-features. All this anti-China hate is based on two things: 1. Political bigotry—China's political system is not based on Western democratic values. Democracy is the superior system. 2. Jealousy—China's success threatens to undermine what they now enjoy (global dominance, capitalism, democracy). People may begin to believe China is superior. The West is doing everything it can to hide the truth about China from everyone. DON'T show how beautiful China is. DON'T show how peaceful and harmonious China is. Portray China as dark, dystopian, backward and evil. The problem is that the West can only do this for so long before the world learns the truth. They've been doing this for over a decade now, and they're losing the battle.

What's common between Qing Emperor Yongzheng (1722-35) and President Jiang-Hu (1990-2010)? Their reigns were bookended by two great emperors & Chinese Communist Party giants. Yet, their accomplishments faded into oblivion, took Imperial China to its zenith and propelled Communist China to its eventual rise as a global power. As a researcher with @Covering China, sub entity of the THE GEOSTRATA, I'm proud to share my first book review, which was published on its website last month. I have read and reviewed Ambassador Vijay Gokhale's book 'After Tiananmen : Rise of China'. If you're a Chinese observer or simply an IR enthusiast, do give a read. Any suggestions and feedback would be welcome. https://lnkd.in/g4nPazKj

China should be ashamed of being the country with the most civil wars in the world, although with an uninterrupted history of ancient civilization[捂脸]…But there exists a hope to end such a violent circle of "hate culture" (once for all) by a princeling meeting between Mr. Ma & Mr. Xi for a peaceful unification (of Taiwan & Mainland) in the near future.[抱拳]

The diplomatic relationship between India and South Korea, - officially established in 1973, has evolved significantly over the past half-century. Historically, the ties between the two nations trace back much further. The ancient Korean text “Samguk Yusa” mentions the marriage of Princess Heo Hwang-ok from Ayuta (possibly Ayodhya, India) to King Suro of the Kaya kingdom, hinting at early connections. This story is celebrated in both countries, - with monuments and commemorative stamps highlighting the shared heritage. Cultural exchanges have played a significant role in strengthening India-South Korea relations. Bollywood movies and Indian culture have gained popularity in South Korea, - while K-dramas, movies, and K-pop have seen a surge in popularity in India, - leading to increased cultural exchange and mutual appreciation.
