☀️ Last Week For Spring Refresh Offer! ☀️ 🌿 Weeds are a part of every flourishing garden. It’s true. We often put ourselves at war with them, believing they have to be eliminated entirely in order for our gardens to be a “success.” But in the process of constant resistance, we often wind up hurting other flourishing parts of our gardens…and the weeds just keep coming back. The same can be said of our interior lives. We label certain experiences as “good” and others as “bad”—and we want to eliminate the bad so that only what presents as lovely and orderly remains. But what if things like difficult emotions were treated as a natural part of our human experience? 🫶🏽 In other words, not something you have to be in battle against, but something we learn to accept, balance, and navigate? 🏡 Mindfulness turns us into more thoughtful gardeners. We get the skills to identify the weeds, to find healthy ways to make sure they don’t overtake everything. Most of all, we learn how to lovingly tend to the flowers, to give them the sunlight, water, and nourishment they need to be rooted and resilient. 🌻 If you’ve tried fighting the weeds, and you’re ready to become a wiser gardener, our Spring Refresh offer is the perfect gift to give yourself. 🌷Get 50% off a Mindful Premium Digital Subscription + FREE Nature Meditations (worth $199). 🦋 This offer ends on April 11, so don’t miss out! Stop and smell the roses...🌹 Earlier this summer I attended a conference hosted by the #ICF Cleveland chapter at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. I love this garden, and go quite frequently in the summer. It was a place my Dad liked, so it brings special meaning to me. And it was one of those perfect summer days. The other day I was doing an activity with a team and someone counted down: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…. And it brought me right back to that day in the garden. Why? Because during our time together we discussed how we use our senses. We experimented with how much information we can gather from taking a moment, pausing wherever you are, and asking yourself to come up with: • 5 things you can see • 4 things you can smell • 3 things you can touch • 2 things you can hear • 1 thing you can taste I felt like I was in a Dr. Seuss book and marveling at all the places we could go. All the new information that was suddenly available to me by simply leaning on my senses. When we can rely on different senses and communication methods, we open ourselves up to a broader range of information and insights. We become better listeners, observers, and receivers of information. Walking further into the garden, we did one other activity re: perspectives. The “ask” was to focus on one larger thing (a tree, bush, garden of flowers, etc). And to take in that “system” in its entirety and jot down words on a notecard. Then, change your focus to one small detail within that system and sketch it on the other side. Doing this activity independently brought forth so much more information and perspective than I've ever experienced walking through that same garden in the past, looking probably at that same old pine cone tree. As with any good group activity, we then shared our words and drawings based on the system we chose. Immediately, curiosity and questions and other perspectives came flooding in, and the amount of new information I had of my little pine cone tree changed. And I was in Awe. What activities do you use to create perspective and awareness? 👋Hi, I'm Ann 👷♂️Your strengths-based systems coach 🗨️I help people have different conversations 🩵Click the website link in my profile to learn more #systemscoaching #orsc #persepctives #learning
