The final stage of the North South Corridor in South Australia has achieved a major milestone with the selection of the preferred alliance partner for the State’s largest-ever infrastructure project. The consortium, comprising John Holland, Bouygues Construction Australia, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs, and Ventia, has been chosen to deliver this transformative project. The North South Corridor, a critical 78-kilometre route from Gawler to Old Noarlunga, will serve as the primary north-south traffic artery, including for freight vehicles. A key part of this project is the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) section, the final 10.5-kilometre stretch that will eliminate 21 sets of traffic lights, ensuring a non-stop journey along the entire corridor. Big year ahead for Suburban Rail Loop

We’re getting on with delivering Suburban Rail Loop – a critical project for our growing city and state. We’ve awarded the second tunnelling contract to build the northern section of tunnels for SRL East, with tunnelling to start in 2026. Consortium Terra Verde brings together global leaders in tunnelling, including Webuild, GS Engineering and Construction, and Bouygues Construction Australia. We’re making huge progress on SRL East, with works underway at all 6 stations sites, and tunnel boring machines arriving from next year. The Suburban Rail Loop is Australia’s largest housing project. It’ll mean faster and more reliable travel for Victorians and will help deliver thousands more homes where they’re needed – right next door to jobs, services and world-class public transport.
