Honouring the Heroes of D-Day: 80 Years of Courage and Sacrifice Today, we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a day that stands as a testament to unparalleled courage, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of freedom. On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy, driven by a shared belief in the liberation of oppressed nations and the restoration of peace. As we remember the valour of these heroes, we must also reflect on the lessons they imparted. Their fight was not just against an immediate enemy but against the ideology of tyranny and oppression. The world they fought to protect is one where freedom, democracy, and human rights are paramount. In today's world, the shadows of tyranny still loom large. So called leaders of certain nations threaten the liberties that so many sacrificed their lives to defend. It's a stark reminder that the battle for freedom is ongoing and that vigilance and courage are still required to safeguard the values we hold dear. Let us honour the memory of the D-Day heroes by standing firm against modern-day tyrants. We must remain united in our commitment to freedom, democracy, and human dignity. Their sacrifice demands that we continue to strive for a world where peace and justice prevail. On this solemn anniversary, let us pledge to never forget the sacrifices made on that fateful day and to draw inspiration from their courage to face the challenges of our time. Together, we can ensure that their legacy lives on and that the torch of freedom continues to burn brightly for generations to come. #DDay80 #RememberAndHonour #Freedom #Democracy #Sacrifice #NeverForget

Patriot Day: Reflecting on September 11th and the Power of Unity Today, on Patriot Day, we pause to reflect on the events of September 11th, 2001, and honor the memory of the thousands of lives lost and the countless heroes who emerged on that tragic day. At Alter New Media, our founder, Nadya Rousseau, recalls being in 9th grade when her school was evacuated. She, like many others, watched in disbelief as the Twin Towers fell and our country faced an unimaginable tragedy. Living near a military base and close to Washington D.C., there was a palpable sense of fear about what might come next. In 2018, Nadya was in New York City on September 11th and remembers walking through Chinatown, where fireworks were set off in remembrance of the victims. The experience was a stark reminder of the resilience and strength that emerged from that devastating day. Now, on September 11th, 2024, as a company headquartered in Nevada, we reflect on how the challenges we face today, especially in an increasingly divided political landscape, contrast with the unity that brought us together after 9/11. Recent presidential debates may highlight division, but today, we remember that unity is more powerful than any political differences. At Alter New Media, we are inspired by the independent spirit we see across America and the communities we serve. Despite the challenges our country faces, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to live in a nation that values freedom, resilience, and the ability to come together in times of need. As we honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served and continue to serve, let today be a reminder that our strength as a nation lies in our ability to stand together, not apart. Let’s reflect on the significance of Patriot Day, and continue working toward a future of unity, compassion, and understanding. #PatriotDay #NeverForget #September11 #Unity #Resilience #America

Memorial day. It's an extra day for family, rest, fun and most importantly, it's a day when we HONOR the servicemen and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in pursuit of freedom. The American experiment in freedom has not been without it's flaws, challenges and failures. We definitely do not have everything figured out. But... The American idea of freedom (although not originally our own ideas) is unlike anything the world has ever seen. It's given rise to innovation, social transformation and prosperity unrivaled in human history. My point is not to defend that the United States of America is "the greatest country ever" nor is it that "we are a force of good in the world." Although I completely agree with both statements in principle, we often fall short of the ideal outcomes in practice. Today, we honor the fallen that gave everything to protect, preserve and further the causes of liberty for over 240 years. Whether you agree with the cause or purpose of United States servicemen in conflicts historicaly or currently is irrelevant today. Many brave and courageous countrymen responded to the call of liberty and freedom, leaving behind families and futures, to protect us and our interests. Many have died, fighting in foreign lands or here at home, in the fight for those original ideals. Take a moment to think, pray and honor the fallen. Never forget them. Never forget their sacrifice. #memorialday #neverforget #memorialday2024

Reflecting on the tragic news of Alexei Navalny's passing, a figure whose life was dedicated to combating authoritarianism in Russia, we are reminded of the critical importance of our collective mission at the Freedom of Mind Resource Center. Navalny's struggle was not just against a political regime; it was a battle for the very essence of freedom of thought, expression, and the inherent right of individuals to live free from manipulation and coercion. This event, while deeply saddening, reinforces the urgent need for our work in supporting individuals and societies oppressed by authoritarian regimes worldwide. It is a stark reminder that the fight against mind control, undue influence, and authoritarianism is far from over. Navalny's legacy teaches us that courage can spark a movement, and even in the face of overwhelming odds, the human spirit's desire for freedom cannot be quenched. In honor of Navalny and all those who have sacrificed for the cause of freedom, we pledge to intensify our efforts. We will continue to stand against the forces of authoritarianism, offering resources, support, and a voice to those silenced by oppressive regimes. Let this moment be a call to action for all who believe in the principles of freedom and human rights. Together, we can create a world where every individual has the freedom to think, believe, and live without fear. #FreedomOfMind #HumanRights #Navalny #Authoritarianism #StandAgainstOppression #cultoftrump #Putin

🌿 Ever since the safe removal of my brain tumour 14 years ago, I've been contemplating this: Your legacy is defined by the positive difference you make in the world. Did you know that 80% of people feel more fulfilled when they contribute to a cause greater than themselves? It's a powerful reminder that our true impact lies beyond personal achievements. Here are 7 examples of people who left powerful legacies: 🌿 Nelson Mandela: Fought tirelessly for justice and equality, leading to the end of apartheid in South Africa and inspiring generations worldwide. 🌿 Mother Teresa: Dedicated her life to serving the poorest of the poor, demonstrating the power of compassion and selfless service. 🌿 Mahatma Gandhi: Led a non-violent movement for India's independence, proving that peaceful resistance can bring about profound social change. 🌿 Martin Luther King Jr.: Advocated for civil rights and equality in the United States, leaving a lasting impact on the fight against racial discrimination. 🌿 Jane Goodall: Revolutionized our understanding of primates and dedicated her life to conservation and animal welfare, highlighting the importance of coexistence with nature. 🌿 Steve Jobs: Transformed the tech industry with his innovative vision, creating products that have profoundly changed how we live and communicate. 🌿 Anita Roddick: Pioneered ethical consumerism with The Body Shop, proving that business can be a force for good and promoting social and environmental responsibility. Reflect on how you want to be remembered. Every day is an opportunity to shape your legacy through the positive impact you create. Let's make a difference together. ♻️ Share this story with your network - let's spread inspiration far and wide! 👉 Follow Ben Botes for more insights on Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Impact Investment. #Legacy #PositiveImpact #Inspiration

A Beacon of Hope in the Darkness 🌟 In times of uncertainty and challenge, there are symbols that transcend borders and unite us with a message of hope. The Statue of Liberty is one such beacon — a guiding light in the darkness for those seeking freedom and opportunity. Standing tall in New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty is not just a symbol of America; it represents the universal yearning for freedom, justice, and equality. When the world feels overwhelming and uncertain, we often look to landmarks like this to remind us of our collective resilience and the promise of a brighter future. For millions, the Statue of Liberty was the first thing they saw as they arrived on American shores — a promise that, no matter how dark the journey, there is always a place where freedom and hope shine through. 🔑 Why the Statue of Liberty Matters: A symbol of freedom: For generations, it has stood as a symbol of liberty, welcoming those seeking a better life. A guiding light: It represents the unwavering belief that even in the darkest of times, we can find hope and build a better future. An invitation to dream: Just as Lady Liberty lifts her torch high, she invites us to reach for our own aspirations and make them a reality. As we reflect on the lessons this symbol teaches us, let us remember that no matter how heavy the storm or how dim the horizon, there is always a light ahead, guiding us toward hope and a brighter tomorrow. 🌟 Let's continue to carry the torch of freedom and compassion for all. #StatueOfLiberty #SymbolOfHope #Freedom #Inspiration #NeverGiveUp #BelieveInBetter #Leadership #Resilience
