I'm supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week ✨ and yesterday, I attended an enlightening session on the benefits of neurodiversity in the workplace. To share my main takeaways: 🧠 Companies are transitioning from asking "why" to "how" when it comes to embracing neurodiversity. Great progress but recognises the work that needs to be done. 🧠 The importance of building communities to drive policy-making cannot be overstated. With allies, we can create environments that foster inclusion and belonging. 🧠 Building a culture of psychological safety is critical. Drawing from Amy Edmondson's work, we explored four pillars: 1) Feeling like an integral part of the team, not just tolerated but valued for contributions. 2) Feeling safe to ask questions without fear of ridicule. 3) Having the freedom to contribute ideas without judgment. 4) Being able to challenge assumptions and practices. Creating an environment where every individual feels respected, supported, and empowered is key to unlocking the true potential of neurodiversity in our workplaces. #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #WorkplaceEquality

As Neurodiversity Celebrations week draws to a close, let's take a moment to reflect on the importance of inclusivity. The Neurodiversity movement recognizes that each unique mind holds invaluable strengths waiting to be discovered and nurtured. Rather than trying to fit everyone into a single mold, we should embrace and encourage the wide range of ways people perceive and respond to the world. Neurodiversity is the term used to describe differences in the way people's brains work, and it's crucial that we recognize there is no "correct" way for the brain to function. By celebrating our differences, we can build a world where everyone's talents shine bright, enriching our communities and fostering a more compassionate society. Let's continue to promote inclusivity and support the Neurodiversity movement. Together, we can make a positive impact and create a more accepting and diverse world. #Neurodiversity #Inclusivity #DiversityandInclusion #neurodiversityweek

Next week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week. Which aims to bring neurodiversity to the forefront of workplaces worldwide and this got me thinking... 🤔 DEI is now (rightly) so important for any business that wants to thrive in modern markets. However, in my opinion the main focus tends to be things that we can visibly see i.e physical disability or race and sometimes Neurodiversity get's overlooked. I read a really great article by Cat DiStasio which covered '5 Ways To Create a Culture That’s Truly Inclusive of Neurodiversity'. Article link is below 👇 Cat mentioned that a neurodiverse workforce tends to exhibit higher efficiency and productivity levels when contrasted with teams composed predominantly of neurotypical individuals. 🚀 We are all motivated to increasing diversity but I was curious to know how are companies making their policies and processes more inclusive of candidates and current employees from a neurodiverse background? 📄 What is a policy that your company has brought in to aid neurodiversity? 🤝 #neurodiversity #neurodiversitycelebrationweek #dei
