Tax Day got you worried? Haven't filed yet? No problem! If you're feeling the crunch as the deadline approaches, remember that you have the option to file for an extension. This gives you additional time to ensure everything is accurate and complete. Filing an extension allows you to delay your filing deadline until October 15. It’s important to note that while this extends the filing deadline, it does not extend the deadline for any tax payment due. So, if you anticipate owing taxes, you should estimate and pay that amount by April 15 to avoid any penalties. Need help? One of the questions we get a lot from tax payers is 'should I submit the tax return even if my business did not trade for the current year of assessment?' The Short answer is yes, and this applies particularly to registered business entities and individuals who holds directorship in Companies. Failure to submit a return may to lead the tax authorities raising a default assessment, which the tax payer is expected to pay, unless a tax payer in question files a tax return themselves. #taxtips
