Delighted to present my machine learning internship project at #CognoriseInfotech focused on diabetes prediction. For this project, I worked with a comprehensive dataset containing anonymized patient information such as demographic details, medical history, and lifestyle factors. The project involved several key steps: 1. **Data Preprocessing:** Cleaning the dataset, handling missing values, and encoding categorical variables to prepare it for analysis. 2. **Feature Engineering:** Selecting relevant features and creating new ones to enhance model performance, including BMI calculations, age-adjusted health metrics, and dietary habits. 3. **Model Selection and Training:** Experimenting with various machine learning algorithms such as logistic regression, random forests, and gradient boosting to determine the most effective model for predicting diabetes risk. 4. **Evaluation and Validation:** Assessing model performance using metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and ROC-AUC score. Cross-validation techniques were employed to ensure robustness and reliability of results. This project has not only strengthened my skills in data preprocessing and predictive modeling but also deepened my understanding of healthcare analytics and the potential of machine learning in preventive medicine. Each of these features plays a crucial role in determining the likelihood of diabetes. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: 1. 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: Handling missing values and encoding categorical variables. 2. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻-𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘁: Dividing the data into training and testing sets to evaluate the model's performance. 3. 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Applying the algorithms to the training data and fitting the models. 4.
