I am not big on posting random thoughts unless it’s productive for current or potential brands, but AI has been a non-stop topic the past few years. Anything “AI” driven, or implemented in the advertising platforms the past 2-3 years have done us no good. Keep in mind, we don’t use 3rd party platforms for our ad buying, we manage directly on the platforms natively. For retailer media anything “improved with AI” has just designated most of our campaigns efforts and dollars to branded terms or really broad categories/terms we don’t have the budget to compete with. Regarding Paid Social/Google Assets, we are sometimes getting screenshots from our clients of defunct ads we did not launch, OR the client did not see in the previews we reviewed before launch. We find ourselves constantly auditing account-wide features in fear any new “AI Improvements” have been forced upon our campaigns. This just reinforces the need to have someone managing and keeping an eye on all your advertising platforms. The “set it and forget” days are far gone. These platforms are in a constant battle to introduce new AI-driven features that are poorly tested and could waste your budgets.

We're building Facebook Ads for the rest of your marketing. Instead of telling Facebook exactly who to show what ad to, their AI analyzes everything they know about customers, understands what success looks like, and continuously learns and optimizes ad serving. But the rest of marketing is still quite manual - What action should I drive customers towards? - Which product will resonate with this customer? - Should I send this customer an offer?
