Farewell, JELD-WEN, Inc. Today was my last day in JW as a Recruiting Assistant. Those were awesome for almost three years. When I applied to this company they were looking for a half-time recruiter and a half-time EHS assistant. And it was planned only for four months in 2021. Mostly I recruited blue-collar factory workers and some white-collar specialists. Also made safety instructions and timely organized medical checks for new employees. There were so many job interviews (I dare to say around 1500+) and every day was interesting, I learned a lot and developed through my everyday work. Thanks to company transformation I saw an interesting period in the wood industry when there were hard times - from COVID-19 to economic collapse in industry fields. A valuable lesson - especially when you need to recruit so many workers within a very short time. The most difficult challenge was to find shift foremen and CNC operators. You will figure out different strategies, try new things, etc you try to do as much as possible as in your power. I learned to speak in Russian and developed my English. How important is recruitment marketing, employer branding, and brand ambassadors ... It all affects recruitment. I met and worked side-by-side with so many wonderful and different people (stakeholders) ... and my team. We went through everything in those hard times and supported each other.
