We're delighted to have published a groundbreaking new study 📣 Read the first comprehensive analysis of #SocialPrescribing across diverse referral pathways in the UK, using data records provided by Access Elemental Social Prescribing 🔍 Prof Daisy Fancourt, lead author of the study, stated: “There have been concerns that social prescribing is being given largely to people who are healthier and more affluent. But most previous studies have focused on small-scale local evaluation data or limited types of referrals like just those from GP practices. Our study takes the first broad view of all types of referral pathways, including through primary care, social care, education, charities and self-referrals and shows a much more positive picture." 📢 Calling all Children's Services senior leaders and/or #Commissioners of #EarlyYears intervention services. Can you help? Pro Bono Economics has been commissioned by the Children’s Charities Coalition (Action for Children, NSPCC, Barnardo’s, National Children’s Bureau, The Children’s Society) to explore how local government spending on early intervention services in England has changed between 2010 and 2024.   As part of the #Research we’re hoping to speak to senior leaders from Children’s Services and/or commissioners of early intervention services about their experiences, what their expectations are for future spending, what conditions or factors are shaping spending decisions and what changes they’d like to see in order to help deliver better outcomes.   Online interviews will take place between mid-February and early March and last for no more than one hour.   All research will be anonymised: no individuals or organisations will be identified in any publications Please share to contacts who might help or want to be involved. For our final insight meeting of the year, we are convening our members for an extended session where we'll be exploring the recent rise in funding applications 📈 The rising and sustained demand for funding and the pressures facing charities have been under the spotlight recently. While high demand for funds isn’t new, it seems that the number of applications to many funding programmes has reached new heights. If funding applications have sharply increased, it is crucial that we understand the underlying reasons behind this change. Over the last month, London Funders have been working to understand more about the multiple factors that are driving demand for funding and how funders are responding to this. We have been surveying and speaking to funders in our membership to improve the evidence base and exploring how funder practice is adapting to this. For our concluding insight meeting of 2024, we'll be sharing the insights from our survey, digging deeper into how applications and demand from funded organisations is changing and what effective strategies we can use to adapt.
