As well as potentially influencing future research agendas in health and social care, there are many other ways that James Lind Alliance (#JLA) Priority Setting Partnerships (#PSPs) can have an impact. One way is through the impact that PSPs can have on the people who participate in them. Here’s some feedback we received about a PSP final workshop! Find out the various other ways JLA PSPs can make a difference: https://lnkd.in/e3tbDhRD

We are #LegacyProud of Dr. Pathik Desai from Legacy for his presentation at the Texas Association of Community Health Centers (TACHC) conference, where he shared the stage with the CEO of ConferMED. Dr. Desai's presentation centered on Legacy's successful implementation of e-consults, highlighting our effective strategies for sustaining utilization over time. E-consults help to enhance patient care by enabling faster access to specialized expertise, increasing efficiency in care coordination, and providing convenient access to care. This is how Legacy practitioners like Dr. Desai can reach the most patients and improve the way health care is delivered.

Agree 100% that a well-integrated, coordinated, and adequately resourced public health and clinical healthcare system is critical. But until we, as a nation, address the upstream drivers of poor health outcomes in the US, state and local public health and healthcare systems alike will continue to be inundated by downstream effects of our policies and funding priorities.
Excited to share our NEJM Group piece on integrating public health and health care. We outline 3 foundational components for protecting health as a team sport: 1) Public health and health care data connectivity 2) Aligned priorities to make shared investments 3) Clear roles and responsibilities with shared accountability We describe collaborative efforts that CDC is leading with health care partners to promote readiness and response, combat the overdose and mental health crises, and support young families. An alliance between medicine and public health to safeguard the health of our nation and its citizens is long overdue and urgently needed. As an aside, the authors of this NEJM Perspective are three of my favorite people!

1 in 4. Remember this statistic. It’s the number of people who are served by Health Centers across the United States of America. Over the past 50 + years the movement has become more and more significant and quite frankly, critical. This movement is like no other. It’s about courage, fortitude, perseverance, and compassion. It’s not a job it’s a way of life. It’s about advocating for all. It’s about being a solution for the ills of the world. It’s about lifting up while strengthening America’s landscape. With just a little federal funding, every dime is stretched and generating 6 times over. The person wins, the employee wins, the local economy wins, the state wins, and more significantly, the nation wins. Special thanks to Congress and to all U.S. Presidents over the past 50 years who have allocated funding to this beautiful movement. We are super excited to support our team who sacrifice daily to ensure that the mission lives on. To all the leaders, employees, patients, and families we salute you. To all of the volunteer and consumer board members, your service matters. #NationalCHCWeek🎉 #HealthCentersBridgingGaps #Advocacy #AmericaWinsWithCHCs #CelebratingQualityinHealhcare #EVERYONEMATTERS #INCLUSIVCARES
📣 To kick off National Health Center Week, August 4-10, the White House issued a proclamation recognizing the key role Community Health Centers play in making sure health care is a right in this country, not a privilege: "Federally funded community health centers are a lifeline for over 30 million Americans nationwide — providing affordable access to quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services, which save lives. Community health center sites are especially critical for people in Tribal, rural, and underserved communities because they are often the closest and most convenient sources of care. During National Health Center Week, we recognize the importance of the nearly 1,400 federally funded community health centers that provide critical services to Americans. We express our gratitude to their dedicated staff, who tirelessly devote themselves to the well-being of their patients. And we recommit to ensuring that every American has access to good-quality, affordable health care." Read the full proclamation: https://lnkd.in/e4E4hyDv #NHCW24 #ValueCHCs
