#5 As Video editors, we often come across job postings like We are looking for a video editor, profecient in motion graphics, Animation, Colouring, graphic design, sound mixer, lighting specialist etc. That's not a video editor, that's an entire post-production team. An editor is just a member of the team. Some of these job posters don't understand the profession clearly. One year ago, I came across a similar job post. I didn't have all those skills but decided to apply anyway. I got the job. HOW? The client asked for a test edit. The test edit didn't even need the arfomentioned skills. Infact, the client was so happy that i did such a clean job since it was the actual video project he was to use in marketing his Real estate venture. Lesson: Don't ignore a job posting because it looks intimidating. Apply anyway. Real clients ask for test edits just to be sure of your capabilities. (30 second test edit, not a whole 30 minute video. So be careful of scams.) That's day 5 of sharing my knowledge to my fellow editors. PEACE.

-Mastering Motion Graphics: Lessons from My Latest Project 🎬 I'm excited to share the latest video from my YouTube channel, where I wore multiple hats: scriptwriter, video editor, and music & SFX designer. This trailer showcases the journey of a project that challenged my creativity and precision, but each obstacle brought valuable lessons along the way. -Key Insights for Motion Graphic Designers & Scriptwriters: →Storytelling Drives Everything: A compelling script is the backbone of any project. It must be clear, attention-grabbing, and emotionally impactful to truly resonate with your audience. →Sync Visuals & Audio Seamlessly: The connection between sound and visuals is crucial. When perfectly aligned, they immerse the audience in your story, making them feel like they’re a part of it. →Sound Effects Matter: Beyond background music, SFX plays a vital role in enhancing the viewer's experience. Strong sound effects can captivate your audience and significantly boost engagement. I’d love to hear your thoughts, and feel free to reach out if you need tips for your next project! #MotionGraphics #VideoEditing #Scriptwriting #SoundDesign #CreativeJourney #YouTubeChannel #LinkedInCommunity

Does not mean to hurt anyone. Most people who are hiring editor are in a mess of confusion. They think that all their requirements will be fulfilled by one person and he is called editor. But no it's not possible. Editors, DI colorist, VFX artist, Graphics designer all are different type of skill sets. And it's a team work not to be done by an individual. So please be specific about your requirements and hire a team as per it. Thanks #editor #clients #freelancers

I think I should delete this post😫 My DM section got filled with Job seekers they thought I'm hiring video editors🙃 Even some of them didn't read full post properly with present mind. I told them to read it once again, after that they got full context that what I'm trying to say. Conclusion: Before applying anywhere read their requirements properly, do proper research about the company whether it is legit or fake coz I have seen many 17-20 year old teenagers who are running their fake companies alone🤣 generating ₹5k/month and showing dreams of ₹50k/month. #videoediting #hiring #videoeditor #premierepro

Can we call a video editor a graphic designer? If yes, then why? Or are they two completely different species in the creative jungle? 🌿🎨 I mean, both work with visuals, but one is all about static images and the other is like, ‘Let’s add motion, sound, and magic!’ ✨ What do you think? Are they just different flavors of the same creative ice cream, or do they deserve their own separate cones? 🍦 "Is a video editor secretly a graphic designer in disguise? Or is it like calling a DJ a music producer? 🎶🎥" Tell me your thoughts in the comments! P.S. - If a video editor is just a moving graphic designer, then what’s a motion graphic designer? 🤯 Too many titles, too little coffee! ☕️😅 #CreativeJourney #DesignVsVideo #CreativeCommunity #VideoEditing #GraphicDesign #MotionGraphics #DesignerLife #DebateTime #CreativeMinds #LinkedInPost #videoeditor #linkedin #post

I wanna know that this reels editing isn't worth for 200 rupees? the story is, a guy came to me and ask pricing and all. then i share my prices which was not affordable for him, why did i demand high price cuz they need very good animation, sound effect, motion graphics and all top notch. that's why i didn't started working with him. but there was a guy(editor) who was asking that do you have any video editing work would you like to refer it to me. then i thought i should transfer that work to him and i transferred it to that editor. clients budget was to low like 200rs/reels as comparison to his demand but he decided to work at 200 and after some hour he send final file which you're watching, but clients said no it is not was i was expecting for and they didn't pay for this reels. and now i've to pay to editor because he worked for it he spend his time and effort. but it is bad, i want to say that, this editing is best at this price! what do you think am i right or wrong? this is worth it or not? #videoediting #editor #reelsedit

👨🏻🔧 Today I would like to talk about super-universal specialists. I don't really believe that such a specialist can produce a high quality product, especially while meeting the deadline. Let me explain. I often see video editors writing about themselves: - video creation and editing - motion design - motion graphics - visual effects - sound design Some even call themselves "sound designers", but when you ask them what techniques they use, whether they know what granular synthesis is, or whether they use midi tools, they cannot answer😐 Recently, I saw a similar description of his services from one video editor, followed by a insta-story with the question: 'Tell me please where you get sound effects.' I also know how to edit video, I often use Premiere Pro for my personal purposes - to make a showreel, edit Reel, provide the client video with sound to speed up the work process 👨🏻💻 But I can't call myself a video editor. That's cause I do it at a basic, entry-level level without mastering special techniques, life hacks, or knowing the software perfectly. Why does working with sound seem so easy? I recently saw a video where a video editor created sound. 💡 The idea of redesigning and displaying the difference came up. Would you be interested to hear? #videoedit #videoeditor #sounddesign #sounddesigner #postproduction #mediaproduction

**Creating Slow Motion Effects: A Quick Guide** Creating slow motion effects is a popular technique in video editing that enhances storytelling by slowing down footage to emphasize details or add drama. This guide will walk you through the essentials of creating slow motion effects, from shooting techniques to editing tips. ### Tools for Creating Slow Motion Effects To start, you’ll need a camera that can shoot at high frame rates, such as 60fps, 120fps, or 240fps. High frame rates ensure smooth slow motion when you later reduce the speed in post-production. Next, choose editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, which offer robust tools for creating slow motion effects. ### Shooting for Slow Motion Effects When shooting for slow motion, set your camera to a high frame rate to capture more frames per second. This allows for smoother slow-motion playback. Lighting is also crucial; good lighting prevents motion blur and flickering, ensuring your footage looks sharp when slowed down. ### Creating Slow Motion Effects in Editing Once you’ve captured your footage, import it into your editing software. To create slow motion effects, adjust the speed using the software’s speed adjustment tools. You can also use time remapping for more precise control over how your footage slows down. Consider adding motion blur or frame blending to enhance the smoothness of the effect. ### Avoiding Common Mistakes One common mistake when creating slow motion effects is shooting at too low a frame rate, which can make the footage choppy when slowed down. Another is overusing slow motion, which can diminish its impact. Use slow motion sparingly to highlight key moments in your video. ### Creative Applications of Slow Motion Effects Slow motion is not just about slowing down footage; it’s about enhancing storytelling. Use it to add drama to action scenes or to capture artistic details like water splashes or falling leaves. When used thoughtfully, slow motion can turn ordinary moments into something extraordinary. ### Conclusion Creating slow motion effects can significantly enhance your video projects. By using the right tools, shooting techniques, and editing skills, you can create slow-motion sequences that captivate your audience. Experiment and practice to master this powerful editing technique and bring your stories to life. #SlowMotion #SlowMotionEffect #VideoEditing #Filmmaking #HighFrameRate #Cinematography #VideoEffects #SlowMo #EditingTips #VisualStorytelling Photo credit: Freepik
