“The diseases of the rational soul are long standing and hardened vices, such as greed and ambition – they have put the soul in a straightjacket and have begun to be permanent evils inside it. To put it briefly, this sickness is an unrelenting distortion of judgement so things that are only mildly desirable are vigorously sought after.” Seneca I appreciate that no-one wants to see children starving to death. But, unless you have been closing your eyes to it, you cannot fail to see the humanitarian crisis developing in Gaza. All the aid agencies have been clear that effective humanitarian aid can only be delivered under a lasting ceasefire. Which might make you wonder why America has chosen to veto votes for a ceasefire at the UN Security Council on three occasions before finally submitting their own flawed Resolution. AIPAC Have a look at the loudest American political voices in support of Israel and then have a look at who AIPAC gives money to. Always follow the money. Which brings me back to something I seem to be saying far too often. Leading authentically is hard work. Leadership must first be addressed at the personal level. To paraphrase Gandhi, “Be the leader you want to see in the world.” It is apparent that many leaders at the top today missed this point and went after position, prestige, power, and wealth instead. 2000 years on and those in power are still having their judgement distorted by greed. #unbeatablemind #mindsetcoach #stoicism #stoicphilosophy

https://lnkd.in/eaC_KpPt The world paid little attention to the Sudan war over the past year, and is anyone surprised? I know not! Why would a Colonialist's world care about Black People being murdered - a practice they've engaged in for well over 450 plus years now, when they're watching Israel bomb the Blazes out of Palestinians and the Gaza Strip? Displacing a couple million people that have no value to them... However, as soon as Iran took action against an aerial attack by Israel in Damascus that resulted in 16 killed, suddenly the world awoke from their self-induced coma. Only now are they concerned because people that are not the hitherto "targeted groups" Racially Visible, Black or Brown people were not the targets of choice. See any hypocracy here? Or are we dealing with "tunnel vision" problems? Western media is also a significant part of this perennial problem - why? The vast majority of the reporting is done by Europeans. Europeans that for centuries that have been indoctrinated with the myth that Systemic Racism is their key to maintaining "Oppression" and domination over the targeted groups. Moreover, the fact remains that Systemic Racism has been carefully woven into the very fabric of Colonialist's societies around the world, only serves to strengthen their collective resolve to maintain this inhuman and oppressive practice.

thought-provoking questions related to the Gaza and Israel conflict, aiming to raise awareness and provoke reflection: 1. If world leaders can allow Netanyahu to kill tens of thousands of innocent civilians, can those same leaders allow the rest of us to feed the innocent civilians who are still alive? 2. What does it say about global justice if the killing of civilians is tolerated, but efforts to aid survivors are hindered? 3. Can the silence of powerful nations on the killing of innocent civilians be seen as complicity? 4. How can the world demand accountability for war crimes if humanitarian aid is restricted? 5. Is the destruction of homes and lives in Gaza a necessary cost for security, or a failure of humanity? 6. Can peace be achieved if the voices of the oppressed are silenced and their cries for help ignored? 7. How does the international community justify inaction in the face of civilian suffering? 8. What precedent does it set when world leaders prioritize political alliances over the protection of human life? 9. Is the right to self-defense absolute, even when it leads to the deaths of thousands of innocent people? 10. How do we reconcile the need for security with the moral imperative to protect innocent lives? 11. Can there be peace if one side's survival is ensured by the eradication of the other? 12. How can the world expect to see justice if the narrative of victim and aggressor is manipulated? 13. What is the value of a human life in Gaza, and who gets to decide it? 14. How can humanity progress if the most vulnerable are left to suffer without intervention? 15. If we condemn terrorism, should we also condemn state actions that result in mass civilian deaths? 16. Can a just world exist when the powerful dictate who lives and who dies? 17. How does the world plan to heal the wounds of Gaza if it allows them to fester? 18. What message does it send to future generations if we normalize the killing of innocents as collateral damage? 19. Is there a point where the pursuit of security becomes indistinguishable from the perpetration of violence? 20. What responsibility do global powers have in stopping the cycle of violence between Israel and Gaza? 21. Can peace ever be sustainable if it's built on the rubble of homes and the graves of innocents? 22. How can justice be served if those who commit atrocities are never held accountable? 23. Should the protection of borders come at the expense of human dignity and life? 24. Can we call ourselves civilized if we allow mass suffering without offering aid? 25. How do we justify inaction in the face of such overwhelming evidence of human suffering? 26. Is the goal of peace achievable without addressing the root causes of violence and despair?

The phrase “All Eyes on Rafah” has gained momentum in recent months as an action call, urging people to pay attention to the attacks on the city. Let me provide some context: Rafah is a city located along the border of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula and is one of Earth’s most densely populated places. Unfortunately, it has become a focal point due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Here are some key points about the situation: Israeli Offensive: Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip has been ongoing, resulting in significant casualties. Since October 7, more than 33,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, including 13,800 children. Rafah Under Attack: Israeli tanks and jets have targeted multiple locations and homes in Rafah, sparking global alarm about the condition of people trapped in the area. The conflict has entered its eighth month, with peace brokers struggling to deliver a Ceasefire. Humanitarian Crisis: Rafah’s border remains tentatively closed, which means most Palestinians cannot leave, and humanitarian aid struggles to get in. Around 1.5 million displaced Gazans are sheltering in Rafah, facing dire conditions. Social Media Campaign: The phrase “All Eyes on Rafah” is typically used on social media platforms to draw attention to the atrocities. Celebrities, including actress and TV personality Nadia Sawalha, have recently used this call to demand a ceasefire and raise awareness. Global Concern: International leaders, including the UK’s Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Foreign Minister David Cameron, have expressed concern about the situation in Rafah. Despite this, arms sales to Israel continue. In summary, “All Eyes on Rafah” serves as a plea for global awareness and action, urging people to closely monitor the situation and advocate for peace in this conflict-ridden city1. The world’s attention is indeed focused on Rafah, hoping for a resolution that brings relief to its suffering population. 🌍👀 #AlleyesonRafah #Rafah #CeasefireNOW #StopthisWar #SavetheChildren #SaveGaza

What's going on with Israel has to be the most disturbing thing to have happened in the world this century. A nation (which was formed out of terrorism) which at its heart is an apartheid state, which acts for the benefit of people of one religion, whose majority population apparently see another race/religion of people as being less human, and who appear to have no regard for the value of the lives of the people of that other race, carrying out vast military operations against them, targeting and killing journalists, medical staff, education providers, aid workers and the general population including children, and occupying surrounding lands, all with the full and unquestioned military and political support of the world's most influential superpower and its allies. Even the atrocities of Myanmar and its government which took power by force and started a war against the civilian population, doesn't seem to compare to the inhumane horror apparently being committed by Israel with the support of the United States of America and the United Kingdom. They have just taken prisoner every medic at a hospital in Gaza, except for one, claiming that the rest were terrorists. On Israeli's Parliament banning the major aid supplier to Gaza: "'In reaction to the Knesset passing a law banning UNRWA from operating in areas under Israel’s control, Sally Abi Khalil, Oxfam Regional Director in the Middle East and North Africa said: “Israel has bombed Palestinians to death, maimed them, starved them, and is now ridding them of their biggest lifeline of aid. Piece by piece, Israel is systemically dismantling Gaza as a land that is autonomous and liveable for Palestinians. Its banning of UNRWA today is condemnable and another step in this crime." “The decision will further undermine the ability of the international community to provide sufficient humanitarian aid and to save lives in any safe, independent and impartial way." “UNRWA was not only the biggest and most established agency that has been delivering aid and sustenance to the people of Gaza for years, it was also a thread that connected them in some hope of solidarity and security to the United Nations." “We are in no doubt that Israel and its allies are fully aware of the terrible consequences that this decision will have on Palestinians living in Gaza, many of whom are already starving.""

Not in the Media enough!🔦 I wanted to make a post on some key articles I have read recently regarding the situation that is actively happening in Syria. Progress has been made, but more is needed! With the Assad regime falling in Syria, It’s a historic turning point in the 14-year-long civil war; one that brings renewed hope for families who have been displaced to return home and reunite with friends and family. There remains high levels of uncertainty. I believe that Social Media platforms and News Outlets don’t hold enough focus to global crises such as Syria, Palestine, Congo, Sudan and sadly many more. I think if there is change to be made, there needs to be more education on these situations. There needs to be a purpose and an emphasis on the change that needs to come to these counties to ensure that these citizens can get justice. Justice is a broad concept but we need to take that one step forward for change to start and hopefully that change should be implemented soon. There is significant human suffering, with more than 16 million people needing humanitarian assistance. The conflict has led to soaring food prices, electricity blackouts and difficulties accessing medical support. There remains an exhausting level of upheaval for many and no clear path to peace. Key reads to understand/ gain insights into what is happening in Syria ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eaUQAC2D https://lnkd.in/e47BbZjK https://lnkd.in/eehuXeeU This situation remains very flammable. Families continue to demonstrate incredible resilience within Syria (and all countries), within counties that have conflicting beliefs on how it should be run and ‘people controlled’. It’s a shame to see this is peoples reality but I pray and hope that change will come; awareness is key and the first step to getting the positive reform that it truly needed!

🌍 Political and Stability Crisis in Syria: A Call for Global Awareness and Action The ongoing crisis in Syria is a stark reminder of the profound impact that political instability can have on a nation’s future. Over a decade of conflict has left the country grappling with economic collapse, humanitarian disasters, and the displacement of millions. The recent resurgence of unrest only adds layers to an already complex situation. 🔍 Key Issues at Play: 1️⃣ Political Deadlock: The absence of an inclusive political settlement continues to fuel unrest. International diplomatic efforts, though persistent, face roadblocks due to conflicting regional and global interests. 2️⃣ Economic Hardship: Sanctions, hyperinflation, and a devalued currency have led to soaring poverty rates, leaving over 90% of Syrians below the poverty line. 3️⃣ Humanitarian Crisis: With millions displaced internally and externally, the humanitarian toll is one of the largest in recent history. Essential services like healthcare, education, and housing remain in dire straits. 4️⃣ Geopolitical Chessboard: Syria has become a proxy battleground for global powers, complicating any path to peace. 🌐 Why This Matters to Us All: Political stability is a cornerstone for sustainable development. As professionals, leaders, and change-makers, it’s essential to recognize the interconnectedness of global stability. The lessons from Syria extend beyond borders, highlighting the importance of diplomacy, inclusive governance, and sustainable development. 💡 Call to Action: Support Humanitarian Aid: Contribute to reputable organizations providing relief to affected Syrians. Advocate for Peace: Use your platforms to amplify calls for diplomatic solutions. Stay Informed: Awareness drives empathy, and empathy fuels action. As business leaders, consultants, and global citizens, we must reflect on how we can contribute to stability — whether within an organization, a community, or on the global stage. The Syrian crisis is a call to action for all of us. #SyriaCrisis #GlobalStability #LeadershipForChange #HumanitarianAid

In our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in conflict zones, we've examined a recent report highlighting a deeply concerning statistic: nearly 70% of those who have lost their lives in the Gaza War are women and children, according to the United Nations. This staggering figure underscores the urgent need for dialogue, compassion, and action to protect vulnerable populations affected by warfare.
