Say hello to Detective Constable Stuart Taylor at #TeamNP 👮♂️👋 Stuart first joined TeamNP in October 2006, and after 6 years service is now a Detective in our High Impact Team. With over 50+ officer roles there's a wealth of opportunities when it comes to how you spend your time in force. Before his current role, Stuart had spent time as a frontline officer in response, tackling serious violence, knife crime and criminal activity in the disruption unit, and in our burglary team amongst other departments 🚔 Growing up, Stuart enjoyed listening to the tales and experiences of his uncle, a retired Chief Superintendent, and it was those stories paired with a career prospect of 'no two days the same' that inspired Stuart to apply. Stuart says what he enjoys most about his day-to-day as a detective is "the diversity. If you'd have asked me earlier in my career I'd have said the variety of the jobs I attended but now, it's the satisfaction of putting offenders in prison and getting justice." 💬 The role of a detective is a challenging one, and balancing your career alongside your personal life and family can also be difficult. Stuart says the most challenging part of the role is "meeting the expectations of victims of crime. You can be working unsociable hours and have a large workload, but there are many support mechanisms in place to assist you in achieving a good work life balance." "Despite the challenges, this role is hugely rewarding and meeting those expectations is hugely satisfying. You can go home knowing you've made a difference in improving public confidence through interactions with victims, identifying offenders and securing convictions." "If you're somebody who is tenacious, open-minded and empathetic then being a detective will give you a diverse and interesting career you can be proud of." 👏 #RECRUITING | Are you seeking a career where you can unleash your potential? 🙌 At the #IACP 2024 Conference, we spoke with Anthony J. Raganella, MPA / NYPD (ret.), former NYPD Deputy Inspector and Commanding Officer and now CEO & Founder of NY Blue Line Consulting Group, to explore the evolving challenges in policing, particularly recruitment and applicant processing. Anthony highlighted, "The biggest challenge right now in the policing profession is the recruitment issue and applicant processing." With today's tech-savvy generation, the need for quick, efficient processes is more crucial than ever. How can we attract qualified individuals and process them swiftly without losing their interest? This question drives our mission at Guardian. 🌟 We believe tapping into the inherent motivation of potential police officers—helping others and serving their community—can reshape perceptions of the profession. By aligning these values with modern recruitment strategies, we aim to create an environment that resonates with new applicants. As Anthony pointed out, "People entering the policing profession genuinely want to help others," and we must capitalize on this intrinsic motivation. Discover how the Delaware Association of Chiefs of Police is revolutionizing law enforcement hiring and background investigation process - read our whitepaper to see how 50 agencies are united under a groundbreaking, cohesive strategy! https://lnkd.in/e__vDfSB #lawenforcementinnovation #recruitmentsolutions #communityintegrity #guardian
