Interesting webinar coming tomorrow 7/23 from Chronicle of Philanthropy "As inflation jacked up household costs in recent years, some Americans had to tighten their purse strings. Others stopped giving years ago, as nonprofits zeroed in on major donors after the 2008 financial crisis — to offset recession losses more quickly. This shift left many small donors feeling like their gifts didn’t matter. Now, fundraisers are rethinking their approach to middle-class donors. While some may be gone for good, others are proving responsive to new messages and channels of communication. Join the Chronicle and our panel of experts to explore strategies to reignite giving by everyday donors and shore up your organization’s financial future." https://lnkd.in/ge3uF6vi?

November Webinar Alert! In Defense of the Everyday Donor 🗓 Nov. 7, 12PM CT Everyday donor programs build connections between individuals and the organization, they build communities among the donors, establish norms and identities around giving behaviors, and, as our research has shown, they feed the pipeline for future major gifts. But it often seems that the investment in such programs is first to be cut when times are tough. During this webinar, BWF’s Joshua Birkholz and James Barnard will examine the challenges and opportunities that face everyday donor programs and make the case for investing in a fundamental source of donor resiliency. 👉 Register: https://hubs.li/Q02TJfJ20

You and I know that your organization plays a critical role in creating change AND that it wouldn’t be possible without your loving donors. But when you talk about the impact your organization has made, your donors don’t see themselves as the ones making that impact possible. Clearly giving your donors the credit for impact in your communications shows them the difference they’re making. T This simple step honors your donor's generosity and deepens their connection to your mission. When you don’t credit your donors, here’s what happens: ⇒ They don’t see themselves as vital players in your mission. ⇒ They are not invested in your mission and see your organization as just another cause competing for their attention. ⇒ They stop giving altogether. With year-end appeals wrapping up, now is the perfect opportunity to strengthen donor relationships by showing them the impact of their love through impact reports and thank you strategies. Do you have a thank you strategy ready for 2025?
