In one or more areas of care, 37 Kaiser Permanente hospitals are “high performing.” High performers are among the top 10% to 20% of all hospitals rated. While many health systems across the United States operate under financial strain(s), Kaiser Permanente continues to prove that by fully integrating health systems and services with the financing of healthcare together with common vision and goals, provides the best possible outcomes for both patients and the healthcare system.

Church-owned hospitals are consistently ranked among the top-performing institutions in the U.S., with some of the highest scores among America’s top 100 hospitals. Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Forsyth Medical Center are among the nation’s 50 largest hospitals as measured by number of beds, according to a new report by Becker’s Hospital Review. https://lnkd.in/g73M7JFy

Newsweek said it partnered with Statista to release its annual ranking of the world's best hospitals. The series began in 2019. The researchers evaluated 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries, including the United States, much of western Europe, Australia, 10 Asian countries, Chile and Malaysia. In New Jersey, the following hospitals earned a spot among the world’s very best: Morristown Medical Center Rank: 47 City: Morristown Hackensack University Medical Center Rank: 58 City: Hackensack Valley Hospital Rank: 137 City: Ridgewood Overlook Medical Center Rank: 174 City: Summit Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Rank: 329 City: Englewood Monmouth Medical Center Rank: 411 City: Long Branch Hospitals were scored based on an online survey of about 85,000 medical experts and publicly available data from post-hospitalization patient surveys on their general satisfaction, Newsweek said. Hygiene and patient/doctor ratios were also considered, along with a Statista survey on whether hospitals use “Patient Reported Outcome Measures,” which are surveys filled out by patients about their experience. #besthospitals #NJhospitals #newsweek

Last week's Hospital in the Home Society of Australasia conference was full of fascinating insights, including from Michael Holland and David Nicolás Ocejo (see image below). Dr Holland highlighted the crucial role HITH services can play in helping reduce the burden on public hospital emergency departments (hence the government's recently announced $31.4 million investment in HITH: https://lnkd.in/gzhiYJ3J). Keynote speaker Dr Ocejo talked about the successful impact HITH has had on the Spanish healthcare system since it began in 1989. Spain now has 126 HITH units taking a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare at home that is paying dividends.
