Mostly sensible BUT why not weed out the excessive data collecting instead of forcing overworked clinical staff to spend way too much time doing this? Why not streamline processes so that insurance companies and providers aren’t fighting each other instead of cooperating? Why not consider the overall cost effectiveness of everything, from prevention to (over)treatment into the last weeks of life(no matter what you “do”). Why not consider massive debts by patients and govs, and for future generations, damaged climate, pollution and so on. Your optimistic “optimizations” rarely consider the big picture. Why does one QALY now cost nearly $100,000 in the USA vs under $100 in some countries - for EXACTLY the same thing, ONE FULL YEAR OF A HUMAN LIFE? You will not like the answers ai will provide I fear, even though they’re already quite obvious.

I am very pleased about the interest in our cross-organizational research project. It confirms my belief in the need to strengthen the exchange between research and industry (from both sides). Thank you, for making it possible Universität Bayreuth, Universität St.Gallen (HSG), appliedAI Initiative GmbH, Research Lab for Digital Innovation & Transformation, Fraunhofer-Institut für Angewandte Informationstechnik FIT, and FIM Forschungsinstitut für Informationsmanagement

This is a fascinating exploration of AI's role in healthcare! It's particularly interesting how the paper categorizes business objectives to harness AI's potential effectively. While AI can indeed streamline and enhance facets of healthcare, equating technological adoption with a cure-all for the sector's complex challenges could overshadow critical ethical and privacy concerns. Balancing innovation with a conscientious application ensures that AI tools not only advance healthcare but do so in ways that preserve and promote patient trust and care quality. Thank you for sharing Jan!

“Potential” being the operative word, but so far not actual
