Following those we admire is good for us humans, but here’s where it can go wrong: 👀 When we’re searching for solutions (for example, how to grow a business) we’ll come across people who seem to be the brightest, shiniest penny in the bunch. ✔️So we say to ourselves: “well what they’re doing is clearly working - so that’s good enough for me too.” ⁉️Online media has its limitations. Taking advice (without context) makes it likely you’ll be sent down costly and time consuming rabbit holes. For example: 👉That person you decide to take guidance from may have grown their business over 20 years, and the strategy they're sharing reflects that. OR: 💰Earning money from their ‘business’ could be a nice to have, and the tactics they’re preaching also reflect that. Also - too many people are dishing out flawed advice, while falsely claiming how well it's worked for them. We must always remember that the advice we take is going to have a massive impact on our success. Thats why it matters so much to choose wisely, and adopt a bespoke strategy that's right for your specific ‘season of growth’. Have you ever followed flawed advice, that you ditched later? If so, I'd love you to share your experiences in the comments below! 👇🏼 #businessacceleration #businessgrowthtips #strategicgrowth #thesmartconnector
Not all advice is indeed one-size-fits-all, and it's important to carefully evaluate the credibility and relevance of the advice we receive. Each individual's journey is unique, and what works for one person may not necessarily work for another Jane Bayler
Love the insight Jane. Information without awareness can be dangerous. The problem with taking free advice on the internet is that most people take other persons' Description as their Prescription. What worked for them may not work for you. Lions and sharks need different hunting strategies.
And LinkedIn, IG, FB, TikTok, or any social platform out there is full of GREAT ADVICE "givers" Jane Bayler

Jane Bayler - Flawed advice with little/no accountability is a scary proposition! I always love hearing after-the-fact: "Well, I didn't really do it exactly that way..." Say what?!
Jane Bayler...Absolutely true! It's crucial to discern between shiny success stories and strategies that fit our own unique circumstances. Context is key in navigating the vast sea of online advice. Thanks for shedding light on this important aspect of growth!
Jane Bayler, what an interesting premise. I've know I've been lured by shiny success stories only to realize the advice didn't fit my unique journey. It's a lesson in the importance of critical thinking and tailored strategies. Thanks for the reminder to stay discerning!
