Last night was a great reminder of the power of community, the support and solidarity it brings, and how we can continue to drive positive change for our businesses and industry.
I wanted to express my gratitude to Agent3 for bringing us together, allowing me to share my personal experiences and facilitating an insightful discussion on Account-Based Marketing (ABM).
Here are some key takeaways:
💡 ABM is a collaborative effort that involves the entire marketing team, it is not a single channel. The best programs leverage all the greatness of marketing in service of the customer.
💡 ABM's strength lies in identifying true customer needs and helping account teams communicate unique value and impact, rather than just trying to create demand for products or services.
💡 ABM continues to deliver a higher return on investment (ROI) for B2B marketing teams.
💡 The measurement of ABM's impact is essential, and a balance between qualitative and quantitative impact is key. Deal size, speed, and overall impact are common metrics of measurement.
ABM remains a strategic approach for targeting high-value accounts, driving revenue growth, and fostering lasting customer relationships. We're proud to contribute to shaping its future.

The Gearflow journey started 6 years ago when Ben Preston decided to leave his high-flying career in advertising tech to jump into the nascent world of construction tech. What we knew then as first-time entrepreneurs could be described as seeing the very tip of the iceberg of knowledge we would need to gain. A wise person said at the time, "if you knew all the problems you'll face, you'd never start."
From a dream and our savings accounts, we kept building day in and day out. Many times we were wrong, tired, and disappointed. But the fire inside just grew. We pushed ourselves to do it better next time and keep going. We challenged each other's thoughts daily, then backed each other ferociously when a decision was made.
The seemingly easy part of building construction parts commerce software where none exists today is the perception is that the user experience must be easy to nail. When, paradoxically, the bar for ease-of-use is high BECAUSE offline is standard.
So, as with all great things, it takes time and an amazing team. Here's Ben rightly giving credit to the amazing people creating magic daily.
If the first 6 years sometimes felt like we were fighting the waves ("this will never work," "I don't need this," "you guys are nuts"), my gut is that the next 6 years will be defined by our ability to ride the coming waves.
If you know me well enough, I don't stop to smell the roses often. But it's moments like these that make me the proudest.
Seeing each person on our team showcase what makes them uniquely talented last week to make Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) SHIFT as impactful as possible is the most rewarding thing to witness.
Karen Scally and Abby Nitta handling every little detail to make sure the Shop Talk Lounge was somewhere people really wanted to be (plus the Gearflow messaging and swag was on point).
Peter Raisch, MBA, Samantha Swanson, and Sarah Wilcox putting in a ton of work not just to make sure they met with as many folks as possible, but doing so in a genuine way as trusted partners and friends.
Toran Billups, Brandon Walker, Robson Gian Perassoli, and Austin Schneider cranking out true innovations in a matter of ONE WEEK to show what we can now deliver with A.I. still blows my mind (and I'm pretty sure I wasn't alone).
And an extra shout out to Karen for the insane amount of work that goes into events like these (a 30 person customer dinner, booth material, hours of shop talks, travel booking, committee meetings, the list goes on.)
It's a beautiful thing as a founder when you know each member of the team is doing their absolute best work because they are so passionate about what they do and who they do it with.
