Dangers of high-potency #marijuana addiction is mother’s message after losing 19-year old son to suicide from #cannabis-induced psychosis Thx so much to Leslie Carpenter for staying on this issue! Marijuana is dangerous. I feel strongly about this because in my line of work, I see people frying their brains every day. Not only is it heartbreaking, we do not have the resources to accommodate for substance induced #psychosis. We would need to rebuild massive #asylums to absorb the epidemic. Of course government will not invest in opening expensive clinical beds, so we will just build bigger #jails and #prisons. While, some #doctors are prescribing marijuana and making a lot of money on it, I do not know one #psychiatrist who prescribes marijuana for any good reason. For those who want to use marijuana, and know the dangers, that’s their choice however - proselytizing its use is simply evil, if not criminal. “Stack, who now runs a nonprofit called Johnny’s Ambassadors, tries not to lecture but instead shares facts to counter marijuana misinformation, such as, “It’s medicinal. It’s harmless. It helps cure cancer and anxiety.” The truth is, she said, “It’s exactly the opposite,” with young brains being the most susceptible to the dangers. Her story is backed by scientific research that proves high-THC (tetrahydrocannabinol ) marijuana products can harm youth. The American Psychiatric Association states as much: “There is no current scientific evidence that cannabis is in any way beneficial for the treatment of any psychiatric disorder, not PTSD, anxiety, bipolar, depression, psychosis. In contrast, current evidence supports, at minimum, a strong association with cannabis use with the onset of psychiatric disorders. Adolescents are particularly vulnerable to harm given the effects of cannabis on neurological development.” Risks and realities of high-THC marijuana…..”

This is some excellent reporting about the amazing work that Laura Stack and John Stack are doing in preventing youth THC use across the country as they visit school after school to educate about the dangers of high potency THC products like Cannabis, Delta-8 and tons of other derivatives. This is heart-wrenching work they are doing, but so crucially important to help combat the profit-driven and unregulated targeted marketing of those in the industry who are working so hard to convince children, young adults and everyone that THC is harmless. It is far from harmless. I hope everyone will take the time to read this article and to share it widely, as too few people understand the very real harms, especially for children, adolescents and young adults under the age of 26. Read this and then ask yourself whether any amount of tax revenue is worth even one more kid getting addicted, having a cannabis-induced psychosis, developing Schizophrenia or dying by suicide. I think not. Please read and please share widely.

Like I said, trusting TAC for information on mental health is like trusting FOX News for information about the election. Both are farcical to say the least.
