Every year on #Halloween, #statistics and #data people are REQUIRED to advance #dataliteracy and make sure as many people see this cartoon (Freeman, 2006) as possible 😊 But want to know what's REALLY scary? 👻 Not understanding #distributions! 📈 While individual metrics on your #powerBI or #tableau dashboards show performance at a specific point in time or space, distributions give you a quick way to see LOTS of values over time or space. Not looking at distributions means you MISS important signals... because sometimes #means just aren't as meaningful!! ⭐ Customer lifetime value... conversion rates... web site load times... delivery times... what are you missing? See the examples here --> https://lnkd.in/e5nfkW-s

We need to talk about Bluey *spoiler for Ghostbasket below* Did you watch it? We squished into the sofa, loaded it up, and laughed a lot at the return of the Grannies. But then there was the final scene. We gasped (well, not the 4-year-old, he can't read) at the 'For Sale' sign outside the Heeler house. For Sale? The Heelers can't move! For Sale? But that's the BLUEY house? For Sale? What's going to happen now?! No one knows (well, apart from Joe Brumm) what's going to happen next on Bluey - but the internet went wild with how worrying it was that it could be coming to an end. But we don't know. We can't control what happens next. So there's not much point in worrying. * We can get so tied up worrying about what *might* happen. Someone once said to me: "worrying about what might happen means the bad thing happening twice" It's easier said than done (isn't everything!) but there are methods to help. Write stuff down. Decide what's controllable. Focus on what you *can* influence. * I for one can't wait to see what's next for the Heelers. Let's just hope the neighbours are as lovely and nuts as Lucky's family.

Life Hack - How To Go Shopping With Your Wife. How many of us have gone to the mall, and lost our wives in huge warehouse stores? I used to tag along; but my legs and back gave out, and now I stand in a futile attempt to locate her. Sometimes, I wander the aisles, hoping in vain to spot her down the long stretch of aisle. More often than not, I give up, and wait by the cash registers for what seems like eternity. Now, however, I have a solution that doesn't require much planning at all. This also works when you park the car at DisneyWorld. https://lnkd.in/ecQRXXgX
