A decade ago, the Sinza Area in Dar es Salaam was noted for its thriving array of bars and active nightlife. Stretching from Bamaga at the intersection of Sehikilango and Ali Hassan Mwinyi roads to Shekilango, where Shekilango and Morogoro roads meet, the area had pervasive noise and elevated levels of immorality, making it exceedingly challenging to raise children there. Those who have ventured into Sinza in the past may recall famous watering holes such as Hongera, B-Bar, Lego, Vatican City, Waung-wana, Shikamoo, Angel Bar, Mara-haba, and Dagaa Dagaa, among other These days, the streets of Sinza present a different scene, predominantly characterised by boutiques, signifying the dynamic evolution of urban development. Sinza and its neighbouring areas, including Kijitonyama, Makumbusho, and Mwenge, have undergone extensive transformations characterised by improved infrastructure and the emergence of new commercial structures, which have significantly reshaped the landscape.
