OUT OF OFFICE ✅ Two weeks of R&R ahead of a busy pre-season which see’s BLK BOX install new facilities across various leagues , as clubs bid to provide an instant statement ahead of a new season! Making a facility look and feel different doesn’t have to consist of a full refurb , here are some quick wins to make a big impact: ⭐️ Flooring - upgrading the floor in any facility will instantly make a huge difference , probably the biggest impactful change behind a full refurb. Whether changing to new tiles , rolled rubber or turf , a new floor will make an instant impact! ⭐️ Turf - adding in a turf track or area has both an instant visual and functional impact. By adding a turf section , not only will this provide a new look and feel, it also provides new training methods! ⭐️ Racks/Rig - upgrading a focal point such as the racks or rig in your facility will provide that new feel! Often one of the most used items in a facility, rack or rig upgrades will Instantly be a talking point in your gym. The ability to add custom branding here too will further enhance the facility look and feel! ⭐️ Technology - adding in some simple technology such as force plates , VBT or HR systems will naturally have a big impact on your facility. Providing tech and potentially even testing racks & innovation areas can provide a real impact both visually and functionally! I've seen a lot of posts on here by creatives grumbling about the expectation that they should be able to 'do it all'... I kind of get it - if it's a big company/budget/campaign which has to be executed to a very high level, then employing a number of specialized (sic) individuals might be the way to go. To use a bicycle analogy: If you're racing road at top level then a popular choice might be an S-works Tarmac SL8. But what happens if you'd like to venture off-road a little bit... Or you want to carry some gear... Or would like a bit of comfort and compliance for a >100 mile grass-in-the-middle-of-the-lanes epic... Or want to fit some mudguards for the winter...? You could buy a bunch more bikes to do these jobs (if you've got the budget, storage space and time to maintain them.) And also the time to invest in getting used to the fit (bike fit aside), behaviour and different quirks of those bikes etc. [90s bike geek moment - this is largely why John Tomac ran drop bars on his mountain bike, racing at Mammoth Mountain etc.] *Or* you could find a really good bike that's adaptable and does really quite a good job for most of what you want to do. I'm fortunate to have some other bikes but the one I often reach for, if I'm riding from the door is my Titanium all road/gravel bike. It had wider tyres over the summer for some great gravel riding and is now set up for the winter with full mudguards (still with 30mm tyres). I could strap some luggage on if travelling further and also does roller duties during stormy weekends when it's not really safe to venture out. Some people like to call these bikes 'quiver killers'. For small businesses, or those on more of a limited budget I would like to humbly suggest that there are some 'quiver killer' creatives out there - and that's a good thing. And where a job requires a bit more specialist expertise, we have the connections, knowledge and experience to get the most out of them.
