Movember 2024 - Tip#3 - Know the numbers I am taking part in Movember this year to help raise awareness across my circle of colleagues and friends around mens specific cancers, suicide prevention and mental health and wellness. Many of the issues Movember helps to tackle are areas that can be improved with early detection or reaching out for help. During the month I will post one of the 5 key tips from Movember each week. Tip #3 is: Tip #3 – Know the numbers •At age 50, talk to your doctor about prostate cancer and whether you should have a PSA test •If you are of African or Caribbean descent, or have family history of prostate cancer, do that at 45 •Know your numbers, know your risk, talk to your doctor To read more or look for areas you might need help, see my Movember page for hints, tips and donations to the charity to help support sharing the awareness. Prostate Cancer Statistics Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.  307,000 men will die from prostate cancer each year. Suicide Prevention – Men’s Mental Health Suicide is the biggest killer of men aged 20-39, with ¾ of all suicides being male. 510,000 men die from suicide each year, that's one every minute. This is a number that we seek to drastically change and can only been made possible through raising funds and awareness to help prevent men from dying too young.
