#ICIQSeminar | 🙌 Thank you Prof. Conchi O. Ania from CEMHTI - UPR3079 CNRS for delivering a seminar about the photo-electrocatalytic activity of nanoporous carbons 🔆 The use of carbon materials as alternatives to metallic catalysts in photo- and electrocatalytic applications has become an active research area. As explained by Prof. Ania, nanoporous carbons can be used on electrochemical reactions of relevance. (https://lnkd.in/dswrwJ6R) 💠 In photocatalytic applications, nanopore confinement seems to be critical to obtain high photochemical quantum yields in a high number of oxidation and reduction reactions. Perhaps the future of photovoltaics and smart-self-cleaning or photocorrosion coatings is in exploring the use of nanoporous carbons. (https://lnkd.in/dV7rivnY) ☔ Today is the #WorldWaterDay and for that we highlight the use of carbon materials in water treatment presented by Prof. Ania, as the applications beyond degradation of pollutants seen with the European Project Ô: demonstration of planning and technology tools for a circular, integrated and symbiotic use of water. (https://lnkd.in/d258pKZt) 🚰 The use of a fast and simple solid dispersion method to prepare a g-C3N4/MoO3 heterojunction showing enhanced photocatalytic performance for the degradation of a recalcitrant pollutant frequently detected in aqueous environments after sewage treatment. (https://lnkd.in/dbYbnAqc) 🍝 And the use of a carbon containing Cu-based photocatalyst for the degradation of tartrazine an azo-dye commonly found in wastewaters from food industry. A topic of high interest as the concern over the toxicity of azo-dye food additives is increasing. 📢 Excited to share the link to my latest publication in the Journal of Composite Materials! In this study, we conducted nanomechanical characterization of industrial hemp fibers using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) to measure their elastic modulus at different indentation depths. The findings provide valuable insights into the mechanical behavior of hemp fibers in the radial direction, which is crucial for the development of sustainable composite materials. A big thank you to my co-authors Xinnan Wang, Atikur Rahman, and Chad Ulven for their valuable contributions and support throughout this project!
