#ProudToBeEmbryologist #PurposeandMeaning Sometimes we have the opportunity to live magical moments and I wanted to share it with all of you through this professional network. On my last visit to Banker IVF and Women's Hospital I met a young student who was starting a short observership with us that very day. She was a person full of life and curiosity about our profession. And I did one of the things I like to do the most: try to explain what and why we do what we do and how we do it in the IVF lab with drawings and doodles on a sheet of paper. And there are already a few victims of my artistic inability so far! Thus far nothing out of the ordinary. The magical thing is that this student was born thanks to an assisted reproduction treatment in that very lab. How exciting to witness how what we do in a lab with gametes become something so real! Let's not forget that SOP, indicators or results are just tools. The ultimate goal, our purpose, what gives meaning to what we do are things like this. Putting science, our knowledge and our skills at the service of life. And then, these moments reassure you that the long hours of working in the dark, worrying about endless things, with a sense of responsibility that goes far beyond our job description are worth it. We are not crazy (or not completely), it's just that we like what we do and it has a beauty that is difficult to understand from the outside. And for you, what gives meaning to being an embryologist? Do you want to share other magical moment for you like this?

Its unrealisticaly real. Hearing this gave me goosebumps because we know how beautiful it is what we do. And experiencing something like this is always special. young ones like us who have just started climbing stairs in this field for us acquaintance like this could be the biggest motivation. Personally for me being and embryologist is not a job its a responsibility through which we create life and spread happiness. Atmost the meaning of being an embryologist for me is watching couples with tear of happines holding their newborn. At that point everything ends and nothing more I pray for than making couples smile.✨

It felt like a complete circle! Being born in this very lab and 20 years later, coming back as an intern was truly exceptional.  The intricacies and skills that go behind IVF is something unimaginable. All thanks to Dr. Manish Banker, Aditi maam and Mr Javier along with the whole team who explained everything so enthusiastically that it reinforced my decision to pursue a career in this field.
