Volunteer Opportunity: Empowering Teen Girls to Navigate Conflict and Build Positive Relationships: The odds are against me when it comes to positive influences teen girls witness when it comes to resolving conflict from Bad Girls Club, Baddies, Love & Hip Hop, Housewives of Atlanta, Basketball Wives, drama between female rap artists, etc-all they see is yelling, cursing, fighting, & how to run to social media to post negative comments & bully others. The odds may be stacked against me-but I’m not willing to give up. I know there are several reasons teen girls engage in fighting so I’m taking a proactive approach this school year to reduce girl drama. I’ve taken some time to lean on my past experience in writing anti-violence education curriculum & have developed a 10 week course aimed at helping teen girls reduce conflict & develop healthy relationships. If you are a woman who would like to volunteer this school year to help deliver some of these impactful sessions please let me know. Minimum Time Commitment: 1 hour a week every 10 weeks. Volunteer Background Check-must be completed & approved prior to working with students. DON'T F***ING PLAY WITH MOM LIKE THAT!!! The fifth commandment says, "Honor your father and your mother that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:12) Ephesians 6:1-4 Gives instructions for children to obey their parents, and for parents to be careful in how they raise their children. Children who learn respect for proper authority will have a better chance at success in life. And, obedience to parents is the morally right way to behave. The parent is not the child's friend, they are the child's Protector, their Guardian, their Comforter, etc. The parent is tasked with training up the child in the way they should go, so that the child has a fighting chance at success in this cold, dark world!!! Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old he will not depart from it. Understanding Proverbs 22:6 in its original context reveals that it is a warning, not a promise. It is a warning to parents that if they allow their children to have their own way, they will not depart from that foolishness when they are older. When we look at the Pandemic of Youth Violence and Criminal activity that is gripping major cities all across the United States including: Memphis, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago, etc.; in light of the original context of this verse, we can now see where it stems from. Parents who are allowing their children to run roughshod at an early age with no discipline, and as they've gotten older, they have not departed from their foolish ways. Who are you, really? What is your purpose? Think 🤔, Grow 🪴, Prosper 💰! Make it a great day!
