Poll Results Are In: Is the Shift Back to the Office Losing Talent? In a recent poll, I asked a simple yet revealing question: Would a mandatory increase in office days (e.g. 4-5 days) influence your decision to stay or leave your role/company? The responses were striking: 🔹 60% would consider leaving their current job. 🔹 Only 17% are comfortable with the change. 🔹 23% said it depends on flexibility. This aligns with a growing concern across industries. According to a recent report, 58% of Australian tech companies are already losing staff over WFH mandates. At the same time, major companies like Amazon Australia, Tabcorp, Dell, Flight Centres and others are leading the charge back to five-day office weeks starting January 2025. It seems the battle between fostering collaboration in the office and maintaining the flexibility employees now expect is becoming a critical balancing act. The question is: Will companies risk higher turnover if they tighten in-office requirements? For leaders, the challenge is clear; how do we preserve the benefits of in-person collaboration while still offering the flexibility that keeps our teams engaged and retained? What are your thoughts? Are we heading toward a breaking point between employee expectations and corporate mandates?

Navigating the shift back to office work is a challenge many organizations currently face. Gaining employee buy-in is crucial for a successful Return-To-Office (RTO) strategy. Here's a quick summary of strategic insights to achieve this: ➡️Highlight the Benefits: Clearly articulate the advantages of office work, emphasizing improved collaboration, faster problem-solving, and a boost in overall productivity. ➡️Set Clear Expectations: Define clear guidelines on office presence and responsibilities, ensuring all team members understand what's expected from them. ➡️Involve Employees in Planning: Early involvement in the strategy development makes employees feel valued and invested in the process, fostering a sense of ownership. ➡️Address Concerns Transparently: Listen and respond to any apprehensions about returning to the office, reassuring safety and addressing specific concerns. ➡️Communication is Key: Employ a variety of channels to keep everyone informed and engaged, ensuring messages about the RTO strategy are clear and consistent. ➡️Offer Flexibility: Ease the transition by incorporating flexible working arrangements, balancing office presence with remote work options. For organizations looking to smoothly transition their teams back to the office, adopting these thoughtful steps can significantly enhance employee commitment to the RTO strategy. #RTOStrategy #EmployeeEngagement #FlexibleWork #Communicationiskey #employeebenefits #humanresources #hrsupport

Consider this: Data: According to our Workforce Radar study, hybrid employees are more engaged than either fully in-person or fully remote employees https://lnkd.in/eTCQnNse Observation: While doing culture assessments for companies, I've observed that employees who started work in a remote environment are less likely to perceive the company culture as hierarchical. Indeed, there is something equalizing about a lack of corner offices and other signifiers of hierarchy. After all, everyone occupies the same amount of space on a screen
