Journalists need to ask questions. But what are the ‘right’ questions? Is simply bringing issues to public attention service enough? GOOD #independentmedia is something we should all champion. When a good question is asked, we should really think about the answer in context of society’s moral compass and use both the question, and the answers we come up with as gages of our ethical status. @AldrinSampear #AldrinSampear

Ethical Committees: From Moral Ambition to Moral Impact In the Netherlands and beyond, there is a growing role for municipal ethical committees addressing techno-ethical issues. As part of the RAAK PRO Moral Smart Cities project, we are exploring the functioning and effects of these committees in Dutch municipalities. Our research focuses on their legal and administrative integration, the behavioral norms they develop, and their impact on governance. On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, we will present our findings during a symposium. This is a unique opportunity to reflect on how ethical committees operate, share practical tips, and explore the future of these committees within municipalities together! Don’t miss this chance to gain insights into the moral impact of ethical committees and participate in an engaging discussion. A masterclass on the Dark Pattern. For those who want to dive deep into the analysis of corporate scandals ahead of my forthcoming book. Together with Michelle Renecle and Hani Nabeel two experts in human behavior and corporate culture analysis, we look into two cases on which the three of us have worked already - the Boeing scandal and the Wells Fargo scandal to show the dark pattern that repeats across companies and industries. If you want to learn how to analyze human risks in organizations and read the warning signals, come and join us either in London or Paris.
EXCITING NEWS ALERT! Hani Nabeel and I are teaming up with our dear friend and renowned ethics professor Guido Palazzo for an unmissable workshop series on: "𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐷𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑃𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛: 𝑈𝑛𝑐𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑆𝑦𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑖𝑐 𝑅𝑜𝑜𝑡𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑆𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑙𝑠" There are very few spots available so register your interest here before it's too late: https://lnkd.in/eT3tbyGK If you’re an able to access the link above due to firewall issues, email me at michelle.renecle@ipsychtec.com

Well, that’s going straight in the list of best things I’ve discovered in 2024😅 The BS Asymmetry Principle, also known as Brandolini’s Law, states that the amount of energy needed to refute BS is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it. On a much more serious note, that explains why fake news spread so quickly and (apparently) uncontrollably. Critical thinking should be a must in all schools! #brandolini #bsasymmetry #criticalthinking https://lnkd.in/ed3P7G4M
