It's now officially 30 days till Christmas, and if you haven't already started budgeting and put money aside for the big day then this is your timely reminder to begin doing so. Too many people get themselves into unnecessary financial difficulty over the one big day. That includes wedding days too. I will never understand why people put themselves through such regret in financial strife for a long period of time for just 1 day. Think of it like taking a delicious drink enjoying that drink. But unfortunately not for long because that experience is tainted by the bitter after taste, which leaves a negative memory and spoils the memory of the drink. Do you think about cause-and-effect? If I do X will that equal Y .. I was never very good at algebra but I think you get the point. Think about every decision you make. Will it have a positive or negative effect in short or long-term for you and your family bank balance? As a Stress-management Coach I encourage my clients to look at the bigger picture when making small or big purchases. Often financial difficulties arise from all those little purchases that mount up. Do you think about reuse and recycle? If you have too much of the xmas decorations why not donate some to those that can't afford to but would like to when celebrating Christmas with their family so they don't feel the pressure to keep up with the Joneses. Just a thought..

🎉 It's that time of year again when Toi Smith is organizing Holiday Love, with the goal of supporting 50 Black single mothers. Through this initiative, her organization, Loving Black Single Mothers pair lower-income Black single mothers with a Loving Black Single Mothers financial partner. These partners are everyday people committed to gifting 💰 between $125-$500 per month throughout the holiday season—November, December, January, and February—for a total of $2,000. Black single mothers are free to use these funds as they see fit to support themselves and their families, no strings attached, because we trust Black single mothers. While this support may not eliminate all the stress and challenges of the holiday season, our hope is that it brings some relief and joy. She is calling on 50 to 200 individuals to join Holiday Love as financial partners, helping to redistribute $100,000 to lower-income Black single mothers again this year. I've already signed up for this year, because supporting this Toi's work is one of the most important things I can do with my privilege. I want to invite anyone who feels called to create the opportunity for some financial relief and joy to sign up in whatever capacity you are able. Holiday Gift Giving! The start of Hanukkah celebration begins sundown today, Wednesday, December 25, 2024, and today is Christmas. It is customary to give gifts in celebration of these holidays. These holidays are special occasions that often are at the core of lifetime memories. Spending amounts you can afford, not incurring suffocating debt, and buying gifts that have a long-term return on investment will make the gift giving season even more enjoyable. There are some once in lifetime gifts that bring reoccurring joy to kids’ faces, but most stories I hear are about the time spent with friends and family, not the shiny new doodad popular culture says is a must have.
